Q10

When September 2027 rolls around and you receive your answers to your 10Q questions, how do you think you'll feel? What do you think/hope might be different about your life and where you're at as a result of thinking about and answering these questions?

I anticipate that I will have learned enough from my mistakes of this year to be more consistent for the next rounds.

I hope that I can look back on a year of doing some nice things for others. I guess I will try to have some activities for the grandchildren, and hopefully finish some projects around the house. I am going to keep writing plays, keep finding joy in life. I expect to retire from work this year.

When I read these answers in September 2027, I hope I feel like I finally got out. Out of Thumbprint, and into something I actually built and believe in. I hope by then we're settled in Florida, White Lavender is thriving there, and I've found some real financial footing again after feeling like I was treading water this year. I hope Madison Grace is running around as a big sister, and that our second child has arrived safely and is part of the chaos and joy of our family. I hope I'm still in great shape, still racing HYROX, still cancer free. But more than any of that, I hope I've found something I actually wake up wanting to do, not just something I'm doing for everyone else. I hope faith is still the thing holding all of it together, and that a year from now I can look back and see this as the year I finally stopped waiting for the right time and just got the job done.

I hope to be astonished that everything is different than I imagined!

I hope I'll look back and that the nightmare of this break up will be so distant that I'll have forgotten how heavy it has been to carry it every day. Every bridge I've crossed on my way to Santiago, I've wished and prayed that I could leave him behind me, cross and move on alone.

I hope I feel FREE! Free of student loans (or at least on a clearer path to freedom than I'm on now) free of toxic work environments, and free to move forward with my life in every way that I please. My reflections this year have helped me to realize, as they always do, what a great practice this annual activity is for setting goals, appreciating my accomplishments, and noting where my interests were at that particular point in time vs. my evergreen interests. I tend to make accurate predictions through these 10Q prompts, so I hope that holds true for next year!

I think I will be pleased, and maybe a little proud. Hopefully I'll be in school again, maybe as a MA student in Latin at Hunter College, or maybe a PhD student in Classics at the CUNY Grad Center (dissertation would be called "Nec Mora" and would be about how the world of lyric poetry adapted to the loss of moraic timing. How fucking cool would that be??) Oh, and I need a job...

I’ll feel stressed because I always overthink these and take too long to fill them out!

I just hope I won't feel the regret of failure - i.e., letting another year go by without getting done what I want to with my research projects, my care delivery efforts, and the partnership I want to build. But just naming that fear and addressing it feels cathartic to me.

I always find the answers interesting and fun to see how the answers change from year to year. Next year I will have acting under my belt and maybe more actively planning that trip to Australia

As always, I 9hope my relationship with Karen is closer & deeper, that I am more at ease is social situations, and that the Lakers make a deep playoff run! I am also hopeful the midterms do well for the Democrats who will rein in the power-mad administration.

More contented, deeper respect for life and greater empowerment

first, i think i’ll feel excited and curious about my prior answers, as i’m sure i’ll remember the theme without quite remembering the content. i hope my life will have blossomed around me, because of my own tending to it. this has reaffirmed all that i want and what is, hopefully, within reach.

I truly hope to be more fulfilled: living a fuller life replete with a coterie of of close friends, order (amidst the chaos), beauty, maintaining my health (despite the wrinkles), an accumulation of small pleasures/memories, and being the best me I can be. Think that remembering to keep a broad perspective on what it means to be alive is the goal.

I think I'll feel grateful that I continue this practice. I think I'll feel disappointed but resigned to be starting another school year, or excited and terrified to be starting motherhood. I hope I'll feel like I have a path forward to some financial stability. I hope I'll be on the way to having a baby. I hope that I will be loving myself so so much, regardless of what is happening. I hope I'll be using my time well in small ways that shape a meaningful and pleasurable day to day that involves fewer screens and more curiosity.

I think this is a good way to take stock of the year that was and to think a bit more consciously of the year ahead and what I want to prioritize. I hope that when I receive these answers a year from now that I have accomplished at least some of what I hoped to do and that it provides a thoughtful look back on this moment in time.

I hope I will continue growing and experiencing life. I hope I will continue to put myself out there and take risks. I hope Jen and I will continue building our relationship.

I think I'll feel unsurprised and perhaps a little disappointed next time I receive these answers. I hope I'll feel a bit more grateful and present this coming year as a result of thinking through these questions.

I hope to feel grounded, and well taken care of ..by me…. I hope to feel excited that I made it and fulfilled my plans. I hope to feel grateful that I feel more connected to my creator than ever before. I love my creator and my creator, loves me.

I hope that I can look at this year's answers with a sense of compassion and grace for the person I am right now. In some ways, I know today that I am doing the best that I can do with what I've got and what I know, but I hope that I can understand that even more fully this time next year. I also hope I am looking at these answers and telling my past self (me, now) that it is going to get better, that it is going to feel worth it to have hung on, that there is meaning and purpose to the struggle.

I like that this year has been peaceful and full of fun and that I continue to strive toward more writing accomplishments. I hope I will have had a major publication by next year (a second poetry collection or the sale of the screenplay), and I believe focusing on this is helping me inch closer to this goal. I hope to continue to build the love and peace in my relationships with Jamie, Gail, and Renee.

The things I'm stretching for most right now is gratitude, and a perspective shift from scarcity to sufficiency. I hope we're more settled into our home and the kids continue to thrive. I hope we are closer to completing our family, or that I feel more settled in the completeness that already is our family. I think it is all possible.

Hopefully, I will feel like I accomplished most things and then maybe be reminded of what I could do better to continue. I want to feel more settled in Portugal, a little better at the language and having a new, full life there.

Well, this year is hard to think into the future. I immediately go to sad and tightening up as I think about life without my Sister in it... anticipatory grief. My hope of course is that my Sister lives out an amazing life, and whenever it ends I can feel both the sadness and the closeness to her and completeness of her life.

I think my answers will make me smile. I'll enjoy looking back over the accomplishments I wrote about. I love a good reflection and check-in with past reflections. I think there will be some things that I've accomplished as I hoped and other things that I'll still be working on. Thank you 10Q for providing this meaningful opportunity to reflect. I hope that my life will be much like it is today. I hope that my brother will have found a job and will be happier. I hope that my family, friends and I will still be healthy, happy and leading purposeful, connected lives. I hope that my nephews and niece will be continuing to grow and discover how to be their best selves and finding good opportunities to do so. Actually, I hope that's true for everyone I love no matter what our age is. I hope that I will cultivate more spiritual experiences in my life. I hope that I will be spending less time on my phone and reading random bad news and more time creating, playing, reading, writing, drawing, perhaps practicing the piano again, hanging out in nature, and spending time with family and friends. I hope that I will have developed a daily meditation practice. I hope there is a shift back towards democracy, peace, and increased rights for women, immigrants, students and teachers.

The sadness will always sit with me. I hope it will be lighter. I hope I am happier. That I spent the year taming fear, being brave, and finding happiness that I deserve. I hope I haven't become mean or angry. I feel both right now. With having done the questions, I hope I use the year to release that.

I hope that I will be able to look back on the past year with gratitude and relief. But I don't know if that will happen for me.

I am hopeful I will have made significant changes to improve my overall health. Since I am moving to a new place this weekend, I am looking forward to a mindset of change and improvement!

I hope that I feel less tired. This year has drained me.

Ditto to 2025. I keep hoping/wishing my marriage will be sorted a year from now. May this serve as a prayer for help. And at this time in 2027 I hope that there is peace: In my heart, in my home, in the world. And I hope I have moved into the next phase of life with lots of joyous baking and some traveling.

Joy! Real relief! Settled! This year brought up a lot for me because in fall of 2025 I started my downhill journey at ci. In fall of 2026 I was on the other side and I fucking made it and I fucking survived and I fucking won. But sitting in that felt complicated. I also started a new job in a whole new world and I feel like a Martian. Fall of 2027 I’ll have a year at my job. I’m hoping to be much happier and healthier and settled into it. I’d love to be in love. I’d love to be a faster runner.

I hope to be basking in the glory that some my assumptions proven wrong, and others proven correct. This inquiry is not a test of prognostication skills, which I appreciate, so let there be real belly laughter and real tears at how learning and growing continued, despite obstacles real or imagined.

Literally pasting my answer from last year (minus needing hernia surgery) My answer to last year is my answer for this year. My life is already complete, already charmed. Things might change, like I’d love a game plan and timeline for moving back to my home town, but there are no real barriers to me having a full and happy life. I love my husband, work is a healthy blend of stress and achievement. We decided to not have kids. 10Q reflection, especially witnessing similarities from year to year, helps me see that new “problems” will always come. And I can simultaneously recognize those frustration without falling into the trap of missing the Big picture. Wherever you go… there you are!

I hope to feel proud of how far I've come. even if it's a little bit. I hope I will be more at peace next year.

I said last year that I was looking for a better year. I’ve had two really crappy years with personal injuries, cancer, my mom was injured and last month, she had a heart attack. It is time for things to be better. I’m working on my health and there are days that I just don’t feel up to it, but I keep marching along. It’s been very stressful and I fight a low level of depression because of it. I can only hope that that this year takes me out of what seems like a continual negative spiral of illness and injury for me and my family. I really don’t think it could get worse so it can only get better and I will do my best to see that it does. Of course, I said this last year and yet it did get worse, but I truly believe that there is a rainbow at the end of this road. Perhaps the road is just a little bit longer than I anticipated.

I hope to feel comfortable in my resolve. I have made some huge decisions lately and by next year I hope that it will start to feel more integrated.

I'm not sure. I don't know how right now, but I have a feeling life is going to look very different -- in some way(s) -- then it does right now. Right now, I can tell I'm living through a very transitional time -- professionally of course, but also personally, mentally, spiritually, emotionally. This is a time where I'm learning more about who I am, what I want, and where I want to go from here. Again -- I hope I don't fuck it up. But what I really mean by that, I know, is that I hope I really make the most of it, really do the best I can with what I have. I think that's what will make me feel positively about the year behind me at that time. I'm hoping I can find the strength and guidance to face whatever awaits me in the year ahead. Please, G-d.

It’s amazing where a year takes us! I love my family so much. I’m really proud of Blake and I for all the work that has gone into this huge transition. I anticipate that future me will reflect on this difficult season with compassion. Hindsight and all!

If nothing has changed I'll be bummed out. If I've done some of the things I'll feel accomplished. I hope I feel less resentful and fearful.

Oh goodness. I hope I feel more positive about our political situation. I hope I have a snuggly romantic partner. I hope I'm doing things regularly that support people in my community getting their needs met.

In what's the same, I hope I'm happy with my life. In what's different, I hope I'll have significant wisdom and growth gained. I hope to have the household running a little more smoothly with the bandwidth I'm being given, and to take some of that time to have fun, be playful, creative, curious, and connect with my loved ones.

Ie even more grateful for everything I hope for. hope I will b

Hopefully I’ll have managed another hot summer with as much grace as I can manage. I’ll be looking back on a successful year where I achieved everything I wanted to at work. I’ll have had good experiences with people I love. I’ll be navigating my anxiety and treating it like a friend that needs to be nurtured and cared for rather than an enemy. I’ll probably also laugh at how quickly I did these answers, resolve to do them now promptly next year, and still leave it to the last minute. I hope my life will be the same and I’ll treasure the joys and comfort in it.

Sad, 5786 was hard, especially the second half. I hope I'm in a better place. Not so sad and angry. Not so lost. Not so alone. More connected.

My life has been mostly shit since September 2023, so a massive turnaround seems unlikely. I will probably feel numb. I expect things to not improve. Assuming things will get better and that I’ll return to the person I once was would probably only lead to disappointment. I can’t emotionally afford more disappointment. I hope that my romantic life is in a good place next year and that someone finally chooses me who won’t traumatize me. I hope that I have control over my living situation next year. I hope that I am still gainfully employed at the same job I am currently working at this time next year and have not been asked to leave or to find a new job. I hope things are better. Everything seems pointless otherwise.

I think when I see my answers to these questions, I'll be surprised by what I wrote because I'm likely to have forgotten!

For me, if there is one thing-- one small thing, one small change, one consistent change-- that works toward my repair and my ability to repair creation... I'll be happy.

Hope may not be a strategy, but I sincerely HOPE to look better and feel healthier.

IDK. Some of my answers hardly changed from last year. Sadly, neither has there been an end to the war in Gaza. Other answers coudn't be more different, if not from last year, then the year before that. I have a new job, I'm feeling more confident, and I have been able to be more accepting of my father's death. Doing the same prompts yearly allows me to see the bigger picture, and in the case of the years leading up to last year, I was able to identify stuckness - even if I wasn't able to get unstuck until recently. Next September, I hope that I am still on the path of being what I want to be when I grow up. I hope I'm even more invested in my writing and less afraid to share it. Also, I hope the war in Gaza is over.

I hope I am feeling the benefits of deciding to get the hysterectomy. I hope my body is feeling strong and I am moving it a lot daily, weekly, and with bigger adventures monthly. I hope I don't feel as drained as I did a year ago. I hope I have some clarity about my future at Two Eagle. I hope I am still doing a good job feeding my long term relationships in this community.

I think I'm setting myself up for some real emotional changes - in my relationship with my sister, in my relationship to my work. I hope that I'll feel more grounded in my life so that work and relationships move more freely. I also hope that I'll have a new cat!

I’ll feel grateful that 10Q has once again given me a chance to truly take stock of what the year was like and how I’m feeling. And I’ve been doing 10Q long enough—not to mention living life long enough—to know that some years don’t carry profound change. That’s not totally fine, but in many ways a good thing. That said, when I look back at my 10Q answers and realize that certain aspects of my life haven’t moved along or changed meaningfully, despite my hoping they will year after year, it’s a wake-up call. Maybe it’s time to try some different things to make that change happen.

A lot of my answers were pretty dark. It’s been a year of darkness and despair. I hope that next year brings better things, or at least that I’ve got more fight in me. I’m exhausted now, but I think I’ve found a community that will renew my fighting spirit. My hope and prayer for next year is that I am able to channel my rage to help my community and bring them to greater safety, prosperity, peace, and happiness. That’s all I can really do for now. I cannot save the world, I cannot end the wars, but I can care for the people around me and do my part to keep the Jewish People alive and resilient through the current crisis. I also pray that the fissures we have are closer to being healed. I worry they the conflicts in Palestine will break us apart, and we’ll end up with the same problems we had during Temple Times. Only this time, I don’t know what central structure will come crashing down, and I have grave concerns about that happening in my lifetime. Sinat Hinam was blamed for the destruction of the Second Temple. What is our current “Temple”? When will it come crashing down? What will we do when—not if—it does?

I certainly could not have predicted my move and my divorce...I answered that this year would be VERY different but good and I think/hope I will feel the same way next year. I have really high hopes for my future with Justin. Probably too high.

I'll be excited, as I always am, these questions show where I've been and who I'm becoming every year, I'm beautifully grateful to have this experience. I think I will be at uni next year, and I think I'll be happy, have moved to a new city, found my way around and people to connect with, studying music, something that I've been wanting to do for a long time. I better be dancing, joined clubs at uni, get the fuuulll experience, and honestly when I imagine this I think of Sydney. I think of a beautiful share house with cool and weird people, crazy fun themed parties and raves, maybe a festival or two, maybe working at the escape room in Sydney? Playing a new instrument! I hope I'll be proud of myself next year, I definitely am proud of myself now, who knows what we'll create.

Same same - still unhappy and stuck

One year. So much can happen, so much can change. I'm hopeful that with proper support -- things like budgeting tools, maybe getting childcare assistance, maybe even a new job -- that I'll feel better-prepared for 2028, ready to take on the autumn of '27 like a boss. I hope that by answering these questions, I'm reminding myself not only of what I've struggled with this past year, but what I've accomplished as well. It may not have had a single standout moment like past years, but the cumulative impacts of this past year's experiences have definitely set me up for success way more than they have for failure. I struggled to find the time to address these questions during the week they were published, but even with much more pressure at the end I feel that the process was still productive and worthwhile. I'm glad this is a thing, and i look forward to writing answers next fall that show how I've gotten back on the right track across the board.

I hope that I will be in a much better place, and I can look back on this year as a set of hardships and obstacles I have overcome.

I felt short on reflective time this year and imagine it might be a little different now that I am working part-time. I'll feel grateful to my past self for prioritizing this experience as I believe it does help me with intention setting and being a better self, mom, wife, friend, sister, aunt, professional and any other role I fill.

Compared to last year, I've inched my way out of hopelessness and helplessness. Next year I want even more of that.

I think my reaction will be: WTF happened this past year?? No matter how carefully I try to plan (not really, though) I hardly ever come out where I thought I would. At this point, I am just going with the flow.

hopefully i am content with the answers, i hope im in a place with my family where we are happy, where asten is happy and excited for school next year. hopefully we’re not stressed from work and have the capacity to enjoy each other as much as possible

I expect the seeds planted in the coming year to be bearing fruit.

Gosh, I hope I feel like a HUGE weight has been taken off my shoulders. Reading this year’s answers will probably be bittersweet but I suspect by then I’ll have resolution, stability, security that validate my decision to end our marriage. I hope the work I’m doing in therapy and on myself during this transition will pay off in a more secure, confident version of myself.

I think I will feel sad. I will miss this time that I'm writing these. Maybe I'll think of Kelly and I on the dry Bosque beach. I hope my life is smaller. Maybe I will be pregnant? I hope I find pleasure in small things. I hope I don't have anxiety attacks at night anymore. I hope I have less anxiety in general. and more certainty, and connection. grateful for these, thank you.

I think I’ll feel a combination of pride and deep disappointment because that’s the trend. I do realize I want to prioritize being straight with people about what’s ok and not ok around me. I want to return to therapy. I’m curious about what has worked with these questions and what hasn’t. My Spanish improved because I enjoy being a student. I didn’t lose weight because I’m still a person with an eating disorder. Answering the question about fear really made me see how I am not in integrity with myself.

WOW! Looking at my answer from last year, I realize that it's been a whole year of me not "really enjoying my life"... so I would hope that next year I am happy and content with my marriage and my life.

I hope that I feel triumphant! That I finally got off my ass and did the stuffs that I have been only thinking about doing for so long. Action is key. Action is the diference-maker. There is no Life without action. There are no Memories without action. I want Maximum Fun, and Maximum Success– and both of those require Action.

hope to be still in good health generally, still running and remaining fully retired. I think financially we will be OK in the years time (2027 when reading this) and that our ability to travel, explore and visit friends will be taking shape. I also hope by this time we are empty nesters' once again and will have the ability to host and entertain overnight guests at our home. I also hope by this time next year Ronnie's knees are not hindering her activities and my new left shoulder is functioning satisfactorily. Enjoying retirement life to the fullest.

Same as last year: condo sold and Trump destruction stopped with rebuilding begun. Also though, no noticeable worsening of my health.

I believe I will feel the same serenity I'm experiencing now. I do believe that the social environment will worsen and that I've nurtured and positioned myself and those around me to fair well through it. I intend to feel more connected to those around me and those in my heart.

I hope I will be compassionate to my self today, knowing I was doing my best and that things will ultimately have changed. I hope things will change for the better, and I will have many more things in life to be happy about and grateful for.

Looking at my response last year, it saddens me to note that there has been no toning down of hatred towards Israel and Jews. I'll continue to hope for that and, in that realm, I hope that Israel gets new leadership aimed at protecting the people from terrorism and protecting the democracy. In my life, I hope that my new freedom from such intimate support of my son, makes my days a bit lighter and that I get to spend more time outside.

Proud of all the progress I've made--so excited by my journey--what a year! What might be different? I hope that I'll have relieved my parts of more of my burdens and be living a free, happier life.

Hopefully better. I'll be more active and engaged. Have better energy. Atleast this is my wish.

Biggest hope is that we have a Democratically controlled House and Senate and that we have started replacing members of the trump administration

When September 2027 rolls around I hope I feel levity. I hope I feel lighter in myself, my career, my financial situation. So many things have been weighing me down for so long and I really hope some of those feelings lift or lighten. Even if things are still tough (there are always seasons and there will always be tough times), I hope my heart is light, I am laughing as joyously and as often as I can, and that I am trusting the momentum I am starting to feel.

I hope that I am alive and vibrant and can rejoice and that the world will be in a better place than it is today. That the lives of my children, grandchildren and friends are all trending in positive directions. I am hopeful that as we age live will go smoothly and we will continue to keep a positive attitude and each will grow in understanding and knowledge.

I think I'll be shocked by how much has happened and how little things have changed.

I will remind myself how difficult it was to do the questions this year and how relieved I felt when it was done. I hope I will improve myself in areas that need attention, some of which I included in these answers and some of which I did not.

I don't feel like I've been as committed to the process this year as previous years. It's been hard to make the time for it every day, so I've done this in two batches in the evening. I'll be slightly disappointed that my answers are so short and that they aren't really saying anything new. But I've felt that before with 10Q: that I'm stuck in a rut sometimes. And then I've noticed other times that things have changed and I did actually act on some of the things I've written about. I always hope my life will be a little better, that I'll be more on it, happier, more productive. But maybe I've reached my peak (when was that?) and it's not just about managed decline. (Wow! That sounds really pessimistic!) I hope I will have acted on a few things that have been in these pages for a few years.

If history is any indicator, I'll probably feel about the same as I always do. (This is my 13th year of 10Q!) I HOPE I'll feel good, that my kids will be in good places, and that the positive progress I've made in my own life will have continued - hopefully even to the point where I've actually reached some of the goals.

I hope that I will lean into the role that I seem to have stepped into, of being the 'kind' person. I want to lean into emulating my mother, who was the most accepting, and giving person I've ever met. If religion or faith is not a requirement for piety, then my mother was the most pious person I've had in my life.

As I have been doing this for years now, I am seeing a pattern emerge of ultimately, where all this seems to be leading and I feel good about it. I do feel a little defeated as maybe I should have been further along that I currently am but I see the steps and maybe they were needed. I am hoping that I will be even more grounded in the behavior that I am trying exemplify, admire and respect. I want to truly feel respectable in myself as others seem to say I am .

I think I’ll be surprised. I’m in a very different spot this year than I was last year at this time. I think I’ll be concerned about how Zoe will handle her time away from home. I’ll be trying to navigate my empty home and freer hours. I hope I will feel hopeful about my art and adventure business and that both will be in a stronger spot (that I will make time for them this year to set myself up for success).

I hope my husband will be (miraculously) better & I will be much better at taking care of him while maintaining my own health & life. I hope I won't be as discouraged as I am now, "succumbing to confusion" as the Al Chayt says, while feeling clubbed by new feelings of inadequacy, despair, hopelessness, helplessness. YK was pretty tough but I left shul with a little optimism that I hope to hang on to & flame into steady progress.

I'm always happy to go through my questions. It's a lot of fun and insightful. These questions always help me refocus and think about who I am, who I want to be, and what I want to be doing. I hope that I feel less stressed next year.

I think some of the answers will be Miraculous and Magical. I do think my life will be better because I am on a good path. I hope my life will be "easier" as witnessed in Heather's Council and "Conversations with God."

At this point, I just hope I am still here to read these answers.

Each year I read these questions and answers anew and realize that headway is being made. Such a wonderful way to have a snapshot of thought in your year and anticipation for the year to come. I hope that the thoughts and ideas have been instilled by the time September comes around next year.. but I also hope that the world is in a better place and certainly South Africa.

I typically feel good about progress I've made and it's surprising the "past" me isn't ever able to figure out who the "future" me will be. And I think it's beautiful, if I stay on course I'll end up somewhere even more beautiful than my wildest dreams. I feel like my life is always better and I hope that I'm able to execute creative projects and a life that I feel is worthy. I hope I overcome all my fears and I'm settled in a space of flow with the infinite.

I think this is the question they ask every year, and I never really know how to answer it. There have been years when I was afraid of looking at my answers because I had probably been too optimistic and then things crashed and crumbled. Other years I was probably too pessimistic, or I was in the middle of something bad happening, like last year. I actually haven’t read my answers from last year yet. I saved them. They’re on my computer, in my files, and I can read them whenever I want. But I haven’t. These questions are actually part of what gave me the idea of regularly recording my thoughts and then analyzing them myself, with the help of my therapist, machine learning, AI, and all of that. So I don’t know how I’ll feel when I read this in a year. I want to feel accomplished. That’s the optimistic part of me. At the same time, I understand much better now that there are a lot of things happening in the world that I have absolutely no agency over. There’s nothing I can do about them. I have to see how the world changes around me and do my best to deal with it. I hope I’ll be in a better place. There’s a word in Spanish, ojalá. I think it comes from Arabic, and it means something like “God willing” — let it be whatever God wants it to be. I almost never use that word. I can probably count two or three times in the last many years when I’ve used it seriously, and it’s always about things that are beyond my reach, things I have no control over. I believe that we need to do our part, and then God will provide. If we don’t do anything, God doesn’t provide. We have to do the job, and God has to approve it. That’s probably my most deeply rooted theological idea of a deity. So, ojalá, the world will be a better place. But regardless of that, I want to make my world a better place. I want to make sure that the people close to me are in a good place, as much as I can. I’ll do the best I can for the kids in my life — my nephews, my niece, my self-appointed nephew, and the children of my friends. I’ll do whatever is in my hands to make sure that my parents are okay, that my siblings are okay, that my chosen families are okay, and that the people I love are okay. I’ll do my best, as long as doing that doesn’t put me, my integrity, or my well-being at risk. My nine-year-old nephew actually corrected me about this the other day. I always tell him and his sister that they’re my favorite people, equally. And he told me, “No, we’re not your favorite people. We’re your second favorite people. You are your favorite person. You have to be your favorite person.” So a nine-year-old gave me a lecture on mental health, self-esteem, and self-care. And he’s right. I need to be my favorite person. I hope that in a year I will actually be my favorite person, and that it shows. That I’ll be doing things for myself. That I’ll be getting out of this hole. That I’ll have healed the void as much as I can. I know it’s a process and that it will take time, but I hope that in a year I’ll be able to see the results of that work. I’m actually very optimistic about that. The caveat is that I have no idea what the world will look like in a year, and sometimes it doesn’t look like it’s going to be a particularly good place. A lot of people have lost their jobs in my company. I wasn’t one of them, but now that possibility is hanging over everybody. Any of us could lose our jobs. There’s war. There’s famine. There’s everything happening in the Middle East. And politically, things feel toxic. I have five countries that I call my countries: Colombia, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, and Israel. And in all of them, to different degrees, the political environment is complicated, polarized, toxic, and divisive. That doesn’t help when the world is already facing serious threats. I don’t know how to deal with all of that. I just know there isn’t much I personally can do about most of it. What I can do is my best. Do my job. Go to work. Help my friends. Help my family. Help the people I can help. Donate money to charitable causes. Give tzedakah. Live my Jewish life. And I hope that in a year I’m living more of my Jewish life again. I didn’t really mention that in the other questions, but I do hope I’ll have reinvigorated that part of my life too.

In September 2027 I will be looking forward to watching the leaves change. I will be grateful for the time I've spent with my dad and mom in their final chapters. ❤️ I got a hit that this coming year 5787 I will count the omer and devote myself to some torah study. I will continue to explore death and rebirth and divine presence in alive aware participation in revelation.

Hopefully I'll be able to look back and feel like I made some progress, that I continued to chip away, albeit slowly, and was able to move forward with my professional mission. I suspect that I'll be tired from both having a long-distance relationship and taking care of my mom, along with the general chaos and uncertainty of the bigger world. I hope that my relationship continues to grow and evolve and that we are solid, and that I'm in a good groove with caregiving my mom, and that the world hasn't fallen apart. I feel like in general I'm on a pretty good path at the moment with my work, and grappling with the deep exhaustion of caregiving for someone who is dying, which makes it hard for me to focus on my professional goals. But, as the hippies say, it is what it is, and I just need to keep moving forward. I just looked at my answer from last year and I talked about getting back to my jewish roots, which is funny because I'm dating someone who was raised jewish and I really like when he peppers his speech with yiddish words. :)

I hope next year to read these and remember, as always, that I’m doing my best. Parents will get sick and die. Marriages can be rocky. Jobs might take years off our lifespan. But all we can do is react and act in the best way we know how and with the best intentions. I just hope I trust my intuitions

Hopefully grateful that I was able to get physical relief from unrelenting pain & restricted mobility and I am mentally stable & full of live.

I really appreciate this practice. It is honestly never what I expect.

Jag hoppas att jag har mer energi och har möjligheten att lägga tid och energi på rätt saker.

MyPositive mental physical health change

I think I will feel different! I will recognize my past self, but not relate in the same way. My own growth will change how I read my reflections from the prior year. I likely will not feel surprised by what I wrote, rather visited by an older version of myself.

Probably bummed that I didn't do a more thorough job. Or I will remember this year that I was kind of bummed out by last year's answers. I'll have been working for over a year and a half. Will I still like my job and the people there? Will I have moved up? Him. I intend to be physically healthier, emotionally calmer, and financially better off.

I hope that my Dad is not suffering. Jude will have graduated high school. I hope that I have grown and I hope that my heart is still soft and warm.

There is a rumor of another upcoming company layoff, ànd that might finally free me to try voice-over full time. I thought it would have happened in the past year, but no. There must be a reason why it was not the right time for me, ànd maybe it’s having the care/legal resources to help both my family and Lisa’s. My wife’s parents continue to decline in health. At the moment I write this, they are not good but they are stable. We set up a home health aide for her mom, and it seems to be working out. We expect that, by next year, the situation will be more acute. My childhood family situation is a whole other story. They are expected to move to a brand new city, far away, by the end of the calendar year. Will that happen? Will still they be talking to each other by then? Will they have done each other in - emotionally, financially, and even physically, by then? Because they are most known for inactivity, I hope that the bluster I’m hearing will not result in any substantive additional problems. I have no confident in that opinion, though.

I feel like many of my answers this year were smaller, less important, more of a stretch to come up with. I think I feel comfortable with my life, which seems to be a good thing. I wonder if I'll still feel as comfortable by the start of next year, or if enough will have changed that I'll have more aspirations again. I hope I'll feel proud of what I've done and overcome by next year, and I hope that I'll still feel comfortable enough that this period isn't just a brief phase. I also hope that these questions might push me to examine other aspects of my life where I could use to be less comfortable and help me achieve some personal growth in those areas.

I think I will feel nostalgic for this time of being on leave and spending so much time with my kids. I hope that, while I will be back to working, I will still be prioritizing my family.

Part of me hopes that these responses aren't a surprise, that they feel familiar vs. foreign; that I'll feel uplifted and validated - you did those things! You've grown in this way. That would be fab. Part of me hopes that I'll also a sense of growth and movement - that sentiment may be familiar, but where I am with holding and processing it has shifted. As the world keeps getting smaller, world events will continue to impact and loom large - but I'm also hoping that community and the small hands that move the world are having an impact. It's hard not to just throw my hands up and fear that it will all just keep getting worse. But I also have to believe that nature and the cosmos corrects, that there are higher plans at play, that my soul chose this time and place, so there is a reason. I hope that I am at peace, with boundaries in place, and continuing to cultivate my practice.

I hope so much will have changed for the better in my life that I won't recognize the fear or sadness of the person who wrote answers.

I hope I will have grown spiritually and gained more depth of character. If my remaining dog passes, I hope I deal well with the grief. I hope I can move out of a holding pattern and get more involved with other people.

Fasten your seat-belts. It's bumpy ahead.

I hope that I'm happier - more settled and content with myself and how I bring myself to whatever table. That I love others well, show kindness and mercy whenever possible, to show them God loves them no matter how far they think they've strayed. Maybe married next year (I think it'll be really neat to get married on our 7th anniversary).

Wow, I'll be 35! I think I'll feel AWESOME about who I am and what I've created. It will be my tenth year of 10Q and I think I'll look back across those ten years and see how significantly my life and circumstances have changed but also how my drive and intuition and questioning have led me here, and that hasn't changed. It's like I've been in a process of unburying myself from roles and expectations and teachings and finally really living into my own, which I hope to feel fully settled in. What will be different as a result of answering these questions is that I'll be able to look back and see how earnest I was, how GOOD and well meaning I was, and appreciate the many versions of the woman I am that have brought me to here. Edit (non tipsy next day): Revisited my older 10Qs and what was actually striking is that I was NOT the same all ten years through. There was a noticeable shift in 2020 mid-pandemic towards the person I am now, which is really cool to see. So I suppose what is different is that I have a barometer for my past self and how I've landed where I'm at.

I think I will be tired as fuck between work and family life, especially with the new baby, but I think I will be happy. I will be cruising towards 40 at that point. I can only pray that our little family and those we love continue to be blessed with health, happiness, and safety. While I continue to mourn the loss of my family, I can honestly look back at the past 12 months and appreciate that these were good months in our lives, that we had fun, that our boys have continued to grow in new and wonderful ways, and that are blessed to be living these wonderful lives.

I hope my prediction for the year was overly pessimistic. I hope I'll have that eye fixed up, so that I read that answer and say "yay! did that." I hope I understand, when reading things over, that I've improved in how I prioritize things.

I hope that writing down my fears, hopes, and goals will help me focus on doing the things that need to be done to achieve them. I'm planning to be better off in relationships and professionally.

This one is always a doozy. I am at such an uncertain time in my life and I open to a variety of directions everything might go. Therefore, I will keep things general: I hope I will be happy and fulfilled, whatever I am doing, both in my career and in my personal life.

I hope I'll feel like the ebbing concern I was feeling was part of an appropriate reqd in the change to the situation, and nothing else. I do still fear I'll feel vindicated that we avoided a nightmare.

I think pleased. I was pleased on reading my 2025 answers I hope I continue to learn and grow

I hope I notice that I have followed through fully with the resolutions I laid out this year.

I don't have any idea how I'll feel when I look back, but I hope that I have just as much if not more to be grateful for. I hope that my life feels easier, or that I have at least become better at handling its difficulties. I hope that I have found love, stability, and light even in the face of loneliness, chaos, and darkness.

I think I'll read these answers and think "yeah, I set those intentions and met them pretty well." It's a year with a very set agenda and a lot of work, and the challenge is to get through it with as much good humor, creativity and self-love possible. I'm hoping when it's over, I feel a lot of relief and a sense of possibility.

I'm hoping to see continued improvement in my health- both mental and physical. Continued connection with my far-flung kids, and hopefully in better financial shape.

The same way we do every year, Beth ... wish we could take over the world and call it a friggin' day. Seriously. It is nearly just copy/paste every year here so we will be somewhat shocked it is already that time of year again. We'll be not-the-least-bit-shocked we feel pretty much the same we did this time last year as we do now. Just hoping as I type this it isn't any worse. I mean, things could always get worse or hey, we could be dead. Maybe you won't even get to read this, maybe you'll be dust and the family is fighting over where to drop your ashes. Or maybe they don't care and your ashes are stuck at the back of someone's closet. Or maybe they left your body at the funeral home or with science. Maybe a scientist is currently courting your corpse. Using it to blow up ammunitions and the like, your body flying 30 feet into the air, body parts flying in all sorts of directions. We don't know ... there's no telling what may be transpiring this time next year. We certainly could not guess each year previous since 2016, could we? Maybe we are living the Mad Max dream! Not that I think leather is a good look for us, but maybe if food continues to get expensive and deadly, we will fit into some nice leather chaps and other leathery what-not. I don't know what you even call some of that leather attire. Not going to go well since we don't deal well with heat. Anyway, we can hope things have vastly improved. Maybe some adults will be in charge of the country this time next year. Maybe some adults in charge of the entire world and everyone gets their shit together. Maybe somehow the wheels on this earthly bus will be entirely off and it is every man, woman, child and UAP-driven creature for themselves. Perhaps you will be living in a van down by the river. Or better yet, in a bunker, having been scooped up by some desperate billionaire to work their "mines" as the world comes to an end. Then, being true to you and the underdog, you will oversee a takeover and it will be rich-people hamburgers every night! There could be massive earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. to entirely wipe humankind off this earth and the only ones left to read my ridiculous 10q answers from 2026 is artificial intelligence. I hope they get a good laugh! Maybe you will have cancer. Maybe you will have a peg leg! Perhaps grow a second head. Whew! What a nightmare to have a second brain to deal with ... Maybe you will be so far gone (given the direction of this answer, at this very moment) as to live in some hospital with those awful grippy socks and itchy hospital gowns, bare bum sticking out the back. But you don't care, not in the least. Maybe things will deliriously work out and you will laugh yourself into hysterics while reading this entry. You'll shake your head with a deeply satisfied sigh, decide this 10q thing really isn't for you. That after ten years, you have finally moved on, no more copy/paste, no more repeats, gone are the same issues year after year. Better yet, no more complaints, wishes, unfulfilled desires, or even silly entries. Life finally makes sense and you can move on from it all. Satisfied. Maybe, just maybe, things won't suck anymore.

I want to feel like I took myself seriously and accomplished the goals. I outlined in my answers and I feel more at ease with my feelings around connection, death, friendship, and the relationships that matter. I will feel a greater sense of relief.

I hope to be in a better situation all round, financially, emotionally, that Inhave a job, that I have a direction and that the fascism ceases before war. In regars to last years number 10... only two things have improved. (Both child's education) . the rest are still massove fights and challenges

I hope I’ll have different answers. I hope I’ll feel like I accomplished things

I think I’ll be glad to read these answers, will remember all the good the last year brought me and will be thankful for that. BE”H I’ll be reading them in Israel — next year in Jerusalem 🇮🇱

I hope things feel easier. I hope I feel more relaxed. I hope I feel calmer. I hope this pressure eases.

This year feels really different to me- less grasping, less pain, more grounded and healthy. Living with my sensitivities makes every week a journey. It is such a rich and lovely way to live and it is really hard. Holding this struggle and hope simultaneously I want to look back and feel proud of my courage to try to engage in Jewish life. I also hope to being a step closer to showing up as fully me in more and more situations.

Me gustaría sentir curiosidad por lo que escribí en lugar de pesar. Eso significaría que algo en mi ha cambiado.

I hope that I can reflect on progress with respect to the goals that I've articulated. But, if not, I hope I'm kind to my future self and avoid self-recrimination. Life is unpredictable. So, who knows what the future holds? I just hope to be more present and intentional with whatever comes my way.

Come next September, I think I'll feel proud that I've stayed focus on making progress - one day at a time. I hope that I'll feel more free from the weights that have I've carried all these years - literally and emotionally. I'll be embarking on a new phase of life and I'm looking forward to it being more on my terms.

cute baby little lawyer! at least my predictions for this year were right-- i have graduated, taken and passed the bar, travelled. dynamics with my family are, in fact, worse than thehy were but everyone is trying.

When September 2027 arrives, I hope I read these answers with tenderness toward the person I am today. I hope I recognize that, even with the questions and uncertainties I carry, this was a beautiful place in my life to be. I feel deeply fulfilled and increasingly at peace. I have done so many of the things I once promised myself I would do: travel, rest, set boundaries, pursue meaningful work, and build a life filled with love and purpose. I hope I will see that I continued becoming the mother, wife, teacher, and person I want to be remembered as. Perhaps some of my goals will have taken shape in unexpected ways, and perhaps I will still be working toward others. Most of all, I hope I feel proud, not only of what I accomplished, but of how I lived, loved, and showed up along the way.

Similar to previous years, I will probably feel like the parenting challenges I am currently going through are yesterday's news and that the current challenges will be my new focus. It is hard to believe I will have a four year old and a one year old at this time next year!! I hope that I will feel further along in postpartum recovery, and back to more of a sustainable life routine (although I realize it will still be busy and challenging!!)

It is only a question of time. Unfortunately I do not know answer right now. But for me I want to work and have my family and my friends alive.

I hope I’ll feel compassion for this current Leah. Reading my answers from ten years ago was hard, but I tried to view her as I would a younger friend. I’m doing the best I can with what I’m given in each moment, with what I currently know. It makes me think about Leah in ten years from now, what she’ll think of me. But that is not the question. I hope I’ll move with more intention, with more empathy and understanding for those around me, including myself.

I expect incremental progress. And some unexpected setbacks. Because that's life.

I think I would be proud. I hope that these intensions and reflections will guide me on my journey back to my Self, one that is more expansive.

i'm just not feeling it this year. i don't think this is doing me much good, just repeating the same stuff year after year. maybe it's time to just let go.

I'm always happy to see 10Q roll around. Some of the answers are predictable, some are surprising. It's good though to work on self-reflection; to see how much I change and where. Truly, I am always glad to see the 10Q messages in my inbox.

My answer is the same as last year: my hope is that I will be in a stronger position financially, that I will have hit my stride professionally, and that I will have a strong community of friends around me.

I know this year will be a year of change and growth. I have some ideas of how it might all work out, but truly, I have no idea what will happen and I am so excited to learn and be challenged and continue to grow into myself.

I wonder if I have received more peace and understanding in this journey through life as its end is up ahead. I hope my health not only stays steady, but improves.

I hope that I will have gone to a financial planner, stuck with a regular writing practice and read Sofia Cavaletti's books.

Better understanding of how to manage my finances. Learning how to be a force for good in the World, and hopefully, making progress with a relationship with my older son.

more directed and structured, seeing progress. more objectives set and met in activist and scientific work. more development of creative direction. sustained "advertising" for selling pottery. more socialising and stimulation outside of my echo chamber.

I'm happy when I've accomplished things I've written about here or changed because I had wanted to. I'm pretty sure with myself which makes me worried I can't change, but then ready these answers I realize I can.

What I really really hope is that I am living somewhere next to a body of water and that I am financially secure and that I have a partner to share it with. But I don't have a lot of faith that I'm going to have any of these things.

I think I will feel happy and satisfied if I remain on this path. I hope my life will be similar to now but more prosperous and fulfilled.

I hope and pray that I don't see his name in the news every day. I pray that the country and the world has bottomed up.

I hope next year's answers will be very different from the tenor of this year, last year, the year before. I hope there will be major changes in my life -- that I will make major changes in my life: keeping what's brave, good, pleasurable, important, but leaving the opposites behind.

Same as last year: "I hope I'll be more grounded and calm, less anxious and worried. I hope I'll have more confidence, less concern about what strangers think about my Jewishness and Zionism/support of Israel as a nation. I hope I'll have more self-motivation, less resignation, less impulse to avoid doing things and go to bed. I hope my health improves. I hope I'll be renovating my apartments. I hope I'll have sex again or at least find a romantic partner and not be so alone."

When I look at my answer from last year, I do feel like I have more equanimity and a better sense of what matters. I read a poem to the Rotary today on Yom Kippur called New Year's Poem by Rachel Barenblatt. Here is a small part This is teshuvah: opening every closed-up space. I'm a window smeared with dust, a cabinet in need of scouring. It's simple work, but some part of me resists, preferring distraction to clarity. When I make the leap I suddenly can't believe I ever ignored the dirt. Hot water blesses my hands into action. God, help me put my house in order, begin the year in readiness for the wonders I know are coming, are always here. That I may approach each day with reverence; this is what I hope for this year.

I'm afraid I'll be in the exact same situation, but a year older and lonelier

I just read my response from last year. I am very lucky. Most of what I hoped for came to pass. I love my life. Not looking for much to be different. I hope when next year comes around, I have built my life around my core values. 1. Faith (the ground) 2. Truth and Love (the compass) 3. Presence (the practice) 4. Wisdom / Growth (the engine) 5. Love / Compassion (the expression)

I hope I can say that I’ve lived louder, more unapologetically, more joyfully and more fully myself. I hope I can say that I’ve put more boundaries in place and that people respected them and me for having done that. I hope I’m in a place where I feel fulfilled and energized, in my relationships and in my career.

I hope I'll feel grateful to my past self for writing all this. I hope I'll feel a sense of accomplishment of taking small steps in a positive direction.

I will feel open minded to all of it and allow it to help me see my growth and what I still need to improve on. Every moment and chance gives me opportunities to see where I’ve come.

i dont know how ill feel but i hope i can say that ive worked towards them yk.

In awe Humbled

I think I'll feel like this year was a bit of a turning point where I went to essentially my family being my entire jewish network to a much broader international Jewish network. I'm hoping by September 2027, this larger network will feel even tighter and that one or two people will break through as close friends. These questions are excellent for reflection and prioritization.

Damn! Ole girl FINALLY stopped talking and started doing..... go on with your bad self.....😁🖖🏿✊🏿 There IS no tomorrow....

I hope I am still here, that my country is still here, that Hope has replaced fear and outrage, and that justice will be done. I wish never to make a decision based on fear.

I'll have all new obsessions and all of the old challenges, I think. And that's good. I hope I'm a little less anxious and I hope I'm letting the people in my life love and support me. I love that these questions anchor me for a second, get me to touch down and look myself in the words. There she is. Hello, Gorgeous.

I think I'll be devastated. My husband will be dead by Sept 2027. I'll read my answers and I will be heartbroken both for me, a former me, a me that can never be the same. and I'll be heartbroken for my husband, who never knew another day at the age of 46. I'll look back and I'll see how desperately sad and depressed I was and how I was doing my best but struggling under a huge weight. And I'll sit here and wonder why I'm alive and he isn't. I hope I am sane, solvent and able to cry with people rather than alone, which is what I do now. I hope I'm able to let friends in, not the way i've been able to the last 2 years. I hope I am in Norway in a tiny house with nothing but water and trees and dogs and peace.

I hope I'll notice more often when I am frenetic. Then my singing to my son will be resounding instead of being a diddy that is detached from feelings of verve, that therefore carries my anxieties across to him as a listener. Most of all, my ability to communicate from a place of intuition and authenticity will increase, so I'll be less irritable. And when I'm downright irritable, I will not lash out. I'll state my feelings and experience the phenomenon where there's bandwidth for acts of love. I can indeed have bandwidth for acts of love in times of strife. That's the courage I want. We shall overcome - my loved ones and I, our community (that we are in search of... another tall order for the work of a year). All this would be quite the transformation, but I can fortify myself for this journey, knowing that there are mountains beyond mountains ahead once I develop this basic human decency, an artful journey if there ever was one. To be free from frenzy and sittin' pretty -- poised to act as my best self day in and day out. I can remember that guiding light, that takes so many guises. I'll be on the lookout.

I hope im financially stable and that im debt free

I suspect there will be two possible outcomes. First that I will have honored my work on making my 80 years provide me with new ideas, efforts and meaning for the future OR I will have dropped my ideas and just worked at managing day to day routines for my heath and my day to day issues of what to do today. I already have such a long list and I need (with in this year to pattern my next year to achieve my desires, goals and life's work. Hopefully 10Q will have been useful and I will be able to shout out for ME.

I will hope that things will have improved, both personally and nationally. I hope my health will still be as good, or better. My mother will probably be dead within the year.

Hopefully I'll feel lighter and more settled in Oklahoma. I hope to have a full life and that I've found more balance and moments of peace and joy in my daily routines. I hope to have loved ones around me, a space that is fully mine (even if just a room or two) and many reminders of how loved and cherished I am.

I think I will feel disappointed as I did this year that I have done little to change the stress that keeps our family on edge, done little to change the distance that the logistics of three kids with no help has put between me and J. I'm hoping not. I'm hoping I feel proud of real tangible changes I made to improve our lives -- therapy, meditation, more outdoor adventures. But I fear I'll be swept up in the daily grind and will look back and say, oops. I didn't do the things I said I would to regulate my body and help my family. Let's hope I do the intentional things this year despite all the powers working against that.

Last year was a year of healing and I have been feeling strong and able to start building my life again pretty recently. A year from now, I will have had a full year to grow my business and the life I want. I hope I will have had the fortitude and grit to work hard for myself and my family, that my projects will be more than just ideas and that I will surprise myself with how far I'll be compared to today.

Next fall could be a tough year for me. My oldest daughter has said that she wants to move away for university and, that would be in the fall. We will see what happens- it will be good for me to have some resolution but if she does move, it will be a challenge! Its so hard to watch them grow up! I have found answering these questions does help me frame my year and think about the problems i am having and potential solutions for them.

I think much of it all rests with how my mother fares this year. I would hope I have worked out something where I am finding my joy. And I hope I'm not so anxious about my present and future finances.

I hope to be pleasantly surprised. PLEASANTLY!!!

Everything is in such a state of flux right now, I honestly can’t imagine what I’ll feel and think next week or month, leave alone a year from now. I hope that I’ll have gone into this unknowing with confidence in what Carl Jung calls the “fertile void” unearthing what’s been germinating underground within my soul.

Hopefully, I’ll feel satisfied that I did better than the year before. More prepared to focus on the things described in the poem that I read tomorrow atYom Kippur. Attributing a difference in my life to having thought about and answering these questions seems like an attributing. any disease Or recovery to any specific activity when there are multiple possibilities for the cause and for the correction. Certainly practically every discipline recommends writing and journaling, and this practice inspires me to do that so I appreciate it. My intention is to be better and better and better every day and every way, and every opportunities to state that or write it helps to make it so

My answer this year is the same as last year: When September 2026 rolls around I believe I will fe even more committed to taking back our Bill of Rights in well-thought-out and also in original ways. I will also have a strong and affectionate belief in my skills as a teacher, a published author and poet, and a political truth-spreader.

I know my life will be a rich and rewarding life. I'll have a net worth of 1.2M and be on my way to increasing that. My book will have been published. I think that I will feel aligned, congruent in my purpose and be making a difference every day. I will be on my way to climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, fit and happy with Ken!

I am hoping that I will be more joyful. It looks like I did not answer Q’s last year bc I was so bitter that my cousins stole much of my inheritance. He is a religious Jew, ya know the kind that doesn’t think women get an inheritance. Anyway…I am working on being grateful for most things in my life. Look where you want to go. I know that he had a major accident, and could not help feeling gleeful. But then I regretted my joy bc of his pain. I think of myself as a ‘good person’, but this emotion of vengeance is troubling. Anyway…I’ll just pretend like he and his awful sister do not exist. Forward in compassion.

I am so grateful at how free I feel because both my boys are taking charge of their own lives. Ilan is in his second year of college, now confident about all the operational details and excited about learning, and Will is a junior taking several APs and really in his stride. Kenny and I feel financially secure, excited about making a difference in the world, each in our own careers, while at the same time focusing on creative, social, and athletic pursuits both together and separately. We are smooth and fabulous tango dancers, and also have added a song and dance number into our repertoire for karaoke nights. Our home is an aesthetic delight for us and our many guests to enjoy. We appropriately invest in fun, joy and health so that our vivacious energy and gratitude brings joy to others and good fortune our way. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I know that my mom will have died by then unless there's some miracle or massive scientific development. So today was the last birthday where she'll call me and wish me happy birthday. I will miss that.

I hope I feel like I've done well. That I've moved on from the same problems, that I'm healthier and more active and more fit. It will be a big birthday for me. I hope I am here and healthy enough to enjoy it. I hope the world will be different, that the wave of antisemitism dissipates and Jews can be proud, respected and no longer need to be afraid. It's a lot to hope for.

I cannot top last year's answer. But it addresses national politics that I have limited control of. On the personal side, I so hope that family relationships that have started to mend will continue to do so. I hope that the business decisions that I'm weighing can be made logically and with a degree of confidence. I hope I feel as excited and proud of the growth I've made this year, in the coming year. It's an incredible feeling to be on a run of good fortune. Even with all the day to day ups and downs and challenges, I'm still so grateful. Fingers crossed for next year too!

I hope to feel safer, more stable, and more fulfilled. I want to live somewhere else. I don't know how much these questions and dwelling upon them will shift things, but I welcome it.

I have just let go of my faculty lead role. By next September I will have had a full year of working 75% time. What I hope is different about my life is that I have resisted the urge to expand my 75% work to fill 100% of my time. Even better, I will have experimented with being 80% prepared for most things (instead of my usual 120%) and will have learned that everything goes just as well as it did when I over-prepared. I hope I am looking forward to the new school year and feeling content to stay in my job. A bonus would be that I filled the time with more fun things, more social things, more things to carry into retirement.

I don't know how I'll feel. I hope I will feel less anxiety than I do now. I hope that this upcoming year doesn't see the end of our democracy. I hope that people are waking up and will vote for change in the upcoming midterms. I hope that my husband and I will still be alive and able to contribute to our community and country.

I may feel the overwhelm of the season change yet again. but I hope I have learned a little bit about how to slow down. fingers crossed.

I always hope this is the year I will read this and I won't be hanging on by a thread. Maybe next year I will have twine instead of a thread.

Well I feel like I will be sentimental surely since it will be our first year of marriage. I'm hoping I'll have figured out something with my hormones and my job which is bringing me sorrow and maybe I'll be more involved in Mishkan.

I hope I'll have *slightly* less of a crammed-in jam-packed schedule. But I do hope I'm creating as much choreography, taking as many risks, and finding new voices and sides of myself. I hope I'll feel as good in my body as I do right now, or even better. I hope I'll see that we've come far on the dance company and have SO MUCH GREAT STUFF coming for it and everything with the studio and all the dancers. I hope Jonathan has amazing things to do that are making him feel fulfilled and like he's on the path he wants to be on. I hope we are loving living through and working through and creating together.

My plan is to begin phased retirement by the end of next year. This will likely be both a matter of excitement and anxiety. But I'm not sure when exactly I'll make the change, so I can't p predict we'll how I'll feel in September specifically. I hope to be mostly done with the fluoride assessment and onto something else. I hope to feel that I still have a lot to contribute at work. Harmon will have started college. I hope it's not too hard!

I hope I'm as healthy and fit as I am now, or close to it, and I will feel grateful about that. I would love to find a romantic partner and move into a larger apartment with him, but will be satisfied even with the stability I have now..

I’m concerned this year that my answers are very similar to the year before, which suggests I’m not growing as a person. I suppose my expectation is to be in the same place next year, but hopefully I’ve made a little progress on the goals I laid out in the responses to these questions.

I hope I’ll be in a different place as I know I will be in a different place. I don’t know if I’ll return to my old habits or if I will have figured out new ones that are better suited to the future. I do hope that I just will be more accepting that the universe has her plan And it doesn’t matter what I think.

I hope the middle east does not explode ... Gaza is, if anything, worse than it was a year ago, despite Trump-Netanyahu plans for peace, if such a plan even exists. If it did in 2025, nothing came of it. And Iran? Why are we in that war? And what does it mean when he says he "will destroy the whole country?" Is he planning a nuclear attack on Iran. Has he no idea what that would do to the rest of the world? Trump did fire lots of Government employees in 2025 and early 26, as he promised. Now we have lots of issues with our food supply, since no one seems to be checking it for contamination, etc. And Measles roars back, as Kennedy tells folks who do not believe in vaccines that "they have a friend in the White House." Russia continues to try to over run Ukraine... just like a year ago. Trump only seems interested in his own money and how he can get more of it. Corruption in Washington makes the Nixon years look good. And I thought Rumsfeld was terrible as head of the Dept of Defense - how about Hegseth as head of the Dept of War - he's even worse. Oy Vey. I hope the GOP loses a significant portion of the House/Senate this November. Surly the majority of US Citizens cannot support what is going on in Washington? Or maybe they have noticed the gasoline prices. If they cannot be moral, maybe citizens can at least fight back for their own pocket books?

I hope that when I read these answers in September 2027, I’ll feel proud of how much I’ve grown. I hope I’ll be healthier, happier, more confident, and more at peace with myself. I’d like to see that I’ve learned to focus on what truly matters, to say no when I need to, and to worry less about things I cannot control. Most of all, I hope I’ll feel that I didn’t just answer these questions, but actually listened to my own answers and made some changes because of them.

When September 2027 rolls around, I hope I’ll feel a little surprised by how much can change in a year—not necessarily because my circumstances are completely different, but because I am. I hope I’ll have become even more comfortable treating life as something to explore rather than something to settle into. I want to be saying yes to new experiences, new places, new people, and new interests instead of assuming that the things I haven’t done yet are somehow reserved for a later chapter. I hope the questions have helped me notice where I’m curious, where I’m holding myself back, and what I actually want rather than what I think I’m supposed to want. I’d love to look back and see that I’ve continued experimenting: traveling to new places, deepening friendships, making room for creativity, and learning things simply because they interest me. Maybe I’ll be playing the clarinet with considerably less squeaking. Maybe I’ll have become more fluent in French. Maybe my September Sisters idea will have become a real tradition. And speaking of ideas that I hope will become something more: September Sisters. I wrote about it on Peacock Years on September 2, 2026, after imagining what it might be like for three women to spend time together in a different city each September. We’d rent a comfortable house, explore somewhere new, share meals, laugh a lot, have the kinds of conversations that seem to happen when you finally have time to sit around a table without checking the clock, and give ourselves a little space to think about what comes next. There’s something especially appealing to me about the idea of women who may be at different points in their lives coming together simply because they’re curious about one another and about the world. No agenda. No matching T-shirts. No pressure to be anything other than ourselves. Just friendship, travel, good conversation, new experiences, and the possibility that a temporary September adventure could turn into a lasting friendship. Maybe you’ve read that and thought, I would love that. If so, I’d love for you to find the original post and see what I had in mind. Go to www.substack.com, search for Peacock Years, and look for “September Sisters,” dated September 2, 2026. Maybe you’ll recognize yourself in the idea—or maybe you’ll know another woman who would. I also hope I’ll have a clearer picture of the life I’m building toward—not just financially or professionally, but emotionally and socially. I want a future that feels colorful, connected, intellectually interesting, and a little adventurous. I don’t want to wait until some officially designated “next chapter” to start living that way. Most of all, I hope my September 2027 answers make me smile and think, “Oh. I actually did some of those things.” And if they also make me think, “Well, apparently I still have a few things to figure out,” I hope I’ll see that as good news rather than failure. I’d rather still be curious than have everything figured out.

I am streaming and listening to the al-hait on Kol Nidre and am comforted that the rituals and songs continue forward. But, resting on the past may be too dangerous. The Rabbi said we are actually asking forgiveness for what we will be doing in the upcoming year. Perhaps this is why I have had a hard time with my answers this year - I have never felt so uncertain, so afraid, so sad. I know I have lived a full year since last one, but it is all swimmy headed. I'm grasping to capture long ago as well as two day ago. My brain is filled. My heart is there - it is full, it has been broken and it doesn't quite know what to do. I feel I am screaming in a vacuum. I can't lose anyone else, or any ability....but, I know I will. I have never had such truncated answers as I have this year....I wish I could grasp the moment and reconcile it with all that is around me. I look forward to my 10Q as much as any other tradition I follow during the High Holidays. I think the gift of this year may be to de-compartmentalize and reunite my mind, body, spirit and live as best as I can.

I think I’ll feel good to hopefully have more perspective on this unique time. I may also be thankful for what I was able to contribute to the family during this period. Maybe, just maybe, I will get a few projects done such as painting in the house, bicycle shed, fix the fence, make a quail house (if we can actually have quail that survive), and even if I don’t, I can still feel good about the break that I so desperately wanted from teaching. Looking back in the previous year version of this question, I didn’t too bad with keeping the weight off, I did get into the hot yoga thing, and I was glad I recorded these thoughts.

It pains me to see how many of my promises to myself from last year are still outstanding. I don't want to feel that way next year. I want to look back in September 2027 and feel really proud of what I accomplished as a writer. And as a parent. And in my marriage. I want to look back and think: I truly made the most of this year. I really lived it, and I enjoyed living it. And I have something concrete to show for that time. Maybe that looks like a finished novel manuscript. Maybe that looks like a new agent. A book deal. I'd like it to. But however the details work themselves out, I'd like to look back on this year with a sense of accomplishment. I hope I look back and am filled with gratitude.

I hope I will feel so triumphant and curious about how my life became so different from September 2026. I hope I will remember that the mountain begins in the valley, in the low point, and the summit seems far, but you’re already on the way. The other phrase I think of is: they tried to bury us. They didn’t know we were seeds. I don’t know who They is, I don’t have an enemy or a nemesis. But it’s a a good reminder. The darkness will pass and we’ll emerge stronger

I’m not sure proud of myself is what I would say this time. I didn’t fully realize the journey getting a book published would take. Since I didn’t get picked up by any of those small publishers in LA, I will have to go in a different direction. I’m gonna follow this poetry road as long as I can. As far as where I’ll be or how I’ll feel? Only God knows.

So many things changed this year that I have no idea how I might be feeling this time next year...assuming I am even still here. I hope things will be better in my life, in the lives of those around me, in the government, and in the world in general. Right now, between AI and environmental carelessness, it seems like the end could come at any time.

I want to feel accomplished. I want to say that I went to Japan. I want to say I have a body of artwork and a creative practice that I’m proud of. I want to live in a different apartment. More than anything else I want my partner to actually be happy, cause with the past couple of years she deserves a real win.

I just read all 10 (!) years of my answers, and it’s wild - the changes I’ve been through, the phases of life. How some of the things I worried about happened or didn’t. How things resolved from one year to the next. I was struck by the year when I couldn’t bring myself to answer the questions, and later reflected that it was because I knew I would have to confront that I was unhappy and I wasn’t ready. I am grateful for these questions.

I hope I feel renewed & confident. I hope everyone will be well & alive in good. Health. I hope I learn from experience and my heart is open and continue to be kind & helpful & thoughtful but leave room for myself & not overextend myself too thin.

What I said last year. No predictions. But, regardless, the commitment to do my best for myself, my family, my community, and the Jewish people.

I hope that I am fitter, slimmer and more clear-headed. I hope that I am not shocked that nothing much has changed.

I think I will be in a different circumstance with my current work and elder care situations. I hope I will be using my time more intentionally and in alignment with my values of commitment, openness, generosity, dependability, helpfulness, cooperation, adventure/excitement, change, flexibility, hope/optimism. I hope I will not be feeling as stuck and bored as I have been in the last few months.

I am anguished about thinking of the future. All we have is this moment.

I hope I will be relieved that I completed the year. I hope I’ll be grateful for my family’s good health and happiness.

I hope I will be happier in 2027. I hope I am not lonely or alone. Maybe some perspective towards the positive changes will lead to more satisfaction.

I think I'll feel a bit surprised (I hope I'll be a bit surprised) b/c I feel a bit down and in a funk lately. I'm taking steps to get out of that funk (job skills training, maybe therapy. . . again. it didn't really work last time), but I'll be honest, I haven't been in the mood to reflect lately. I've been procrastinating on this question, hoping I'd start to feel better/more chipper, but it's time to just be honest about how I feel and move forward. I'm hopeful that when September 2027 I won't have even remember how blah I felt today.

Still exploring out-of-state and out-of-country moves, careers, and education. My master's program, the possibility of showing my boys my home country or a Spanish-speaking country. Spread my wings and fly.

I want my health to continue to improve and my life to continue to expand. Creatively, writing, musically… people and places and most importantly me finally putting myself first. I want to see what happens when I go all-in on my life. I want to look back and be amazed at how much can change for the good and with harm to none in a year.

Today's was moving day! This time next year, I hope I'm happy. I hope I'm holding out for what I really want. I hope I'm cozy and brave and laughing. I hope I am astounded by how good things are in my life.

I think I’ll be glad to have a snapshot of my life from the previous year. This is my 13th year completing 10Q, and it motivates me to work on my goals because I don’t want to be disappointed reading my previous year’s answers not having made any progress.

ohhhhgoddddddddddd how could anyone answer this question without knocking on an amazon forest of wood? I hope I hope I hope I hope I hope that I am relieved. that we are all relieved. I hope we have internet and jobs and food and our houses and air and a democracy and education and healthcare and human jobs and a tiny bit of our national esteem left in the context of the world.

My journey consists of attempting to align my daily life with God’s purpose. The church friend who told me about 10Q learned about it from a mutual Episcopalian Priest. I hope to further grow in purpose by September 2027.

I look forward to growing into a better person over the next year and serving more support to my communities. These questions make me think about my life, who I am and how I am a member of my village.

I hope by this time next year, we'll have sold our current and bought a new home to spend our retirement years in (well...not quite retired for me, but not too much longer) and that we will have taken another wonderful trip by then, too. I hope I'll feel better than I'm feeling right now. That it won't feel like we're being bombarded by horrible news constantly and that the world is truly falling apart, that we'll have seen a successful election season that can stop some of the madness.

Probably unaffected, possibly (🤞🏻?) passed on. Life is what it is. It’s the winding down stage. Things happen but little changes.

I will feel good about the things I accomplished and likely worry about what I fell short on. But I predict that I will be happy and healthier.

This being, what, my 8th year? I think I know how I'm going to feel. It's hard. It's wistful. I hope things are different, but, this is some pattern we've got going. “Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.” I guess I'm hoping to fail better. Try different. Fail different. Fail better? *crying, lol* I wonder if I'll be alive. I wonder if the people I like will be alive. Godspeed, yo.

For the last several years, I have looked back at my answers from the prior year and not had surprises. In fact, things have been pretty consistent. I feel blessed that my life has been so routine, so devoid of large ups and downs. I hope that it stays the same.

I hope that will have a full time job and hopefully I will be able to drive again. I feel good about my life I hope my life will be more fulfilling than is now.

I will be sad because I will see how stuck I've been. People have real tragedy in their lives and make a better showing than I do. I know it's time to stop feeling sorry for myself because I haven't felt love on my life, but damn this hurts. I hope and pray that by this time next year I will have something figured out and learn how to be content. And I'll thank God for letting me live another year. And maybe Trump will be gone!

What I have learned in the last few years is that… You don’t know how it feels until it happens to you. And so I know that this next year will be surprising. Whether it’s the things that happen, the things that choose, or just how I feel about them.

I hope I feel proud of the incredible amount of growth I experienced in 2026 when I look back next year. It has been a really difficult past couple of years and I feel like I'm starting to come out of it and feel optimistic for what lies ahead and for what I will make of what lies ahead. I hope that by the time of Yom Kippur 2027, I will be able to see that I followed through on my commitments, lived according to the growth I experienced and that those lessons have become more intuitive, and did not let myself be held back by expectations (my own, my family's, society's) of what I should do or am supposed to do, but rather that I've lived in ways that I felt were right and which made me feel loved, fully seen, and experiencing a lot of joy.

I hope I am feeling more settled in my new life as a widow (I hate that term). I hope to have new passions and things to be optimistic about.

I've been doing this for 15 years now; I'm pretty even keeled. I hope that I find that some of the things I wished for myself in the coming year will have come to fruition. The thing I want most in life is to be a husband, to be a dad, and hopefully have a stable job that provides for that family. I don't know if The Universe wants that for me, but I am going to keep trying until it gives me a clear NO that's not going to happen. One way or another, I will remain hopeful about my life, about my future, and I am aware that we are co-creating with The Divine.

I think I will feel more relaxed. I think Trump’s power will diminish and the programs he’s been pushing will significantly and permanently wane in popularity. I think I will have completed my list of home remodeling projects and will be in strong position to successfully move on to a new, happier chapter. I think my relationship with David and other members of my family will be stronger.

When I see my answers to this year's 10Q questions, I want to feel some relief instead of the complexity of feelings I do now. The world and my life are so disrupted and pretty much all of my activities are around trying to managing that. I can't offer much in this space so I am riding the wave of change and reflecting on it. Activate the Serenity Prayer!

Somewhat disappointed because I did not answer all of them, but I also think I will be okay because the answers are real and honest.

I will know that I did everything I could within this past year to be more honest with myself and others and within my own life. That I will be spending more moments with amazing people and enjoying them and basing my life around them.

Hopefully closer to debt free and have my 100 ton master captains license

It's a good examination of conscience. It's helpful to sort out our emotional clutter

That I’ll feel more settled, More Grounded, more At peace with my life.

I hope that I will look back on the past year with enjoyment from the travels and family time I will have spent. Also, I hope that I will have some source of income that doesn't involve clinical medicine.

I am! I am as satisfied as I was last year! So, next year, again--I hope I will be appreciative of all the people, events, places, and things that have brought me joy, resilient in response to difficulty, and patient with myself and others when we have not behaved at our best.

Great question, things have been real fucked up and I think I'm doing better than last September but......

Probably just as useless and depressed as I do every time this year. I hate this shit, it makes me feel terrible about my life. But I probably feel terrible about my life anyway!

I feel that I will be more confident than ever, and further along mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically, and professionally. I will also be living a full life in NYC and Paris. Something also tells me I will be in a committed, loving romantic relationship by then (and with the man I will marry). And I will own my own home in both NYC and Paris. That’s a moonshot desire, but it is going to happen, because I am speaking it into existence now!

Oh my, I hope I have healed and learned to pass on some of the kindness people have shown me this year.

It's my hope that I will look at all these answers in the rearview mirror and breathe a happy and triumphant, "Nailed it."

I think that in a year a lot can change when it comes to your attitude and mindset, and I think I’ll read a lot of things and probably feel like I didn’t make as much difference as I would want to or I made a lot more where I didn’t think I needed to. I hope that I’m proud of myself and that I had a good year and taught myself a lot like I do usually and made good conclusions and surrounded myself by people who love me and that I doubt myself less, and I hope for an amazing year and for a successful election for our country and for the world to become a better place in the least cliché way. .

I am hoping I'm going to feel good about my year. I want to use the new year to concentrate on small acts of kindness, including kindness to myself and consider those a win. Small steps are easier to see in the beginning and add up to larger progress when viewed looking back!

I’m not necessarily expecting these questions to change my life, but I do think they offer some interesting things to pause and reflect on. I hope that, a year from now, I’ll be able to look back and see that some of these reflections gave me a different perspective, helped me appreciate what I have, or perhaps even prompted a few small changes. Mostly, I’m curious to see what I’ll discover about mys

I hope the world is in a better place. I hope the Jewish world is in a safer place. I hope Israel is in a better, safer place for all of its residents. My personal world is not so bad right now. Yes, there are siblings with health issues that impact me more than I would like. But that's kind of episodic, not constant like when Mom was sick. It's there, but it's when things flare that it's so hard.

Yes

I think I'll feel the same. I always hope that I'll have moved closer to acceptance of things the way they are instead of upset at unfairnesses. Again, thank you for the opportunity to think about and express myself with your questions! :)

I think I will sometimes feel regret and sometimes pride, but always gratitude that I can give thanks and be grateful that I still have so many loved ones and good work and play to do and can ask more questions and seek more answers.

That's a hard question. Many years, 10Q time coincides with life altering circumstances in my world. Sometimes, the questions bring dread. Sometimes, it's delightful to remember that I had a quiet September the previous year. It's always a good reminder that I've survived another year.

I probably will find that not too much has changed - that the same issues still apply. At the same time, I hope that I find that I have made progress on these. I hope that I feel lighter and less encumbered, living with a greater sense of freedom, connecting more with other people, worrying less about my own actions, and dealing with whatever comes along with a sense of acceptance and equanimity.

I really hope I can reflect and be proud of myself. I can hurt for the girl that I once was, but be proud of her and be grateful she took me far. I really hope life is different in a great way. I hope I enjoy life more, I hope I accomplish more. I hope I don't second guess myself and be more confident. I pray I am at peace and genuinely happy. I pray to be the mother my child deserves, the woman I am meant to be.

My hopes for a year from today; That I will be healed, able to walk and drive, to stand and lift things. That I will be in the middle of my sixth book's manuscript. That my influence will have grown in my job. That I will have begun a radio show/podcast I have mapped out.

I hope to be through all the side effects of chemotherapy and healthier. I enjoy seeing the questions as a tool for reflection, which I believe is important for making progress in life.

Probably won't be that surprised, but who knows? I may not even be alive in a year. At my age every day is a blessing. Dogs will probably be gone by then, so God knows what that will bring. Hopefully trump will be gone, too.

I hope I will look back on them and think about how it was a pivotal year in which the election that was about to happen started to turn things around for this country. I fear that will not be the case, but it is my hope.

My hopes for this coming year, especially after this season of introspection and reflection: I hope to feel like I'm living my best life possible, maintaining my commitment to healthy living, better eating habits, daily exercise and mindfulness work. I hope my sleep patterns improve significantly. I hope to worry less about our kids and how their futures may evolve, choices and decisions they're making, etc. I hope for greater peace both in the world and in our country, as well as in our own community. Looking back at my 2025-2026 reflections, questions and answers, I see the tremendous value in taking this time to consider and write about it, using this not as a yardstick for measurement, but as a guide for living up to where I say and how I want to be.

Unchanged from year to year: "Copy/pasting YET AGAIN from last year, and the year before, and possibly even the year before that: I hope I will feel better about this year’s answers that I did about last year's. Reading last year’s responses has been gutting because not much has changed. It all still feels so out of my control. So I hope fore the same as last year: relief that things are better, kindness toward myself for having been in such a dark place, and regaining some sense of agency over my life."

I really don't know. There is so much that will be different and so many unknowns for me about where I'll be. I love my life, my friends, family, and partner. I know this time next year I will have lost some big parts of my life as it is now. I hope these questions might also remind me what I've gained, how I've grown, and anything I've lost sight of that's important to me now.

By September 2027, I hope I have read some new books, met new people, been some new places, learned to do something new. I hope I am better at accepting that things change. I might lose the best things I’ve ever known and figure out how to stand it and go on. I might find beautiful things I don’t know exist right now.

I think I will sign and wonder why I even answer these questions. I will wonder how I can be so unable to change.

Well, I definitely have a little more peace, finance-wise. Not ideal, but better. I hope that our financial stability continues, and I hope I've learned to draw better boundaries between myself and my phone. I also hope to have learned to live a more "analog" life.

I think I’ll be happy with how far I’ve come but also proud of who i am today. I might have a love interest but maybe not. Either way i hope I’ll be content with my status. I hope ill have good friends and feel satisfied with then too

I think/hope I'll feel relieved that I've accomplished so many of my goals.

Well, the jury's out. Either I'll think omg, imagine, I once thought I wanted to be a rabbi! Or I'll think hmm, still haven't decided (most likely). It's unlikely that I'll have made any progress that I wouldn't have made if I hadn't answered these questions, although progress will have been made. And of course, I'll be half way through a building project that presumably started off the back of an email I sent while answering these questions yesterday, so that'll raise a satisfied smile, and a thank the holy one ever to be praised for helping me be a better wife.

I'll probably feel like time went by really quickly. I hope I can live the next year more intentionally.

Through some controversies with my Rotary Club, I and I believe the club have grown, and I hop that continues

I hope that I’ve made some better progress in 27. Hope that I have learned to be more generous. I hope that I have learned to love more and beloved.

I hope the world will be a safer, less chaotic and polarised place. I hope people will be more accepting of each other’s opinions and more ready to listen first before acting. I hope I will be in a better emotional state and that life will be making more sense to me than it has over the past few years. May this be the will of my God.

A. I hope I'll be alive by then. B. My goals are very reasonable. I think I can have done it.

I'm hoping that I will have accomplished my goals or, at the least, be well on my way to doing so. I have so much yet to learn and to give. God willing, you'll hear from me in September 2027.

I hope I dont forget where I am now and what I hope to accomplish - but also realize that I also dont know what the next year has in store and want to be open to opportunities that may come my way

Hopefully I will have heard better what life wants from me. Rather than just continuing each year with the same stuff, done increasingly badly.

I think I'll be a little bit at sea in life. I hope I will have found some strong wind to follow, a next beautiful thing or place or idea that gives me something to hold onto. I am afraid that not all of my fears are irrational and when I reread those fears that at least a handful of them will be true. I'm trying to remember that it will be ok if I do feel all those things I'm afraid to feel because there will be another day after and another day after. I hope, foolishly probably, that I have let go of any desire for people to be impressed by my LinkedIn but simultaneously that my lack of pride has nothing to with a feeling that I COULDN'T do any of those impressive things. I hope mostly, that even if I'm entirely lost at sea and unsure where I'm going or what I'm doing, that I'm still close in my relationship with God and that I'm in an environment where in some aspect I'm growing. Not back in Moscow, not suspended in time anywhere else, but somewhere that I can love, working on SOMETHING, glamorous or unglamorous.

I really nailed my answers last year, and with the country and the world still in such a critical state they pretty much hold for this year as well. The midterm elections -- if they're allowed to happen, and if they are not purposely defrauded to keep the current administration in power -- will be the pivotal point. In 2 months, we'll know whether or not we have a chance at saving our country or not.

I hope I'll be living in a house that we own, with my divorce finalised - I'm keeping everything crossed! I think I'll feel satisfied with that. I'd also like to be a good few kilogrammes lighter, so I will feel physically and mentally better. Hopefully reflecting on it here will have helped.

Yearly, when I read the answers to these questions, it a slow evolution is perceptible. Some things change -- where I live and who I live with, life passages, how my mother is faring, the milestones in my grown children's lives -- but I remain mostly the same. I certainly feel diminished these days, especially after the events of the last six years. I hope to be around for my birthday next year (note that I never take that for granted) and I will turn 70, which feels very unbelievable. Answering these questions has become a ritual that gives me some insight and stability. It is definitely more meaningful to me than going to temple ever was.

I think I’ll feel surprised at how much life changes in a year, because that’s always how I feel! That, and the threads that never seem to change - my wants and desires - show me how I’m not really meeting my needs. I think a huge change next year is that is going to finally change - I’ll be healthy, my teeth fixed, good weight, exercising, debt paid off - all the things I typically complain about I’m finally doing! So, accomplished. I think I’ll feel accomplished.

I want my life to be vibrant. I want to be useful, and involved with something I love. I want to have Brooklyn friends. I want to be active & healthier.

I think I'll be more centered, more ok with myself. I think I've had a lot to process in these past few years and I feel like I'm finally coming up for air. I'm just over it. In a good way. And I'm finding my why.

I do try to practice this type of reflection year round. The big question mark for me is how my dad will do in the coming year, as he approaches his 100th birthday. Other than that, I expect that my transitions will be completed and I will be fully living the life I love.

This year I had a different technique for answering the questions. The first few years I spent much time thinking about and responding to the questions. Later I felt resentful that the questions seemed to imply that I should be unhappy with some aspects of myself or my life. This year I decided to just answer the questions quickly and briefly without thinking too much about them. Looking back next year, I'll see if that made them any less valuable.

My answer remains the same as last year, and the year before: We’re in our 80s. My husband and I take nothing for granted. Fifty/fifty that in September 2027 [2025] [2026] both/either of us will be here, in whatever state of health we’re allotted. In the meantime, we will love each other and our dear ones and - tougher - our fellow humans every day as much as we can

I don’t think answering these questions will result in anything. But I do feel that change will occur because changes inevitable. What I think will change is continued reliance on a power greater than myself to navigate the challenges of life, but not just continued. I think my reliance will become stronger and more powerful. But I hope will change is my home environment. The place I live doesn’t necessarily support the way I like to live. There’s no view of the sunrise or sunset from within home. There’s no direct sunlight to support all the plants that my partner likes to grow. There’s not a lot of big trees that provide shade for walking my dog in the sunshine. There’s no water sources nearby that he can play in. It’s a far drive to the meetings I really enjoy. I do have gratitude for the cramp that I’m living and I do try to the best of it, but if I’m being honest and I hope that we can buy a house that’s more suitable for everyone who lives within the house. This is the house that I moved into that already belonged to the family I live with so it’s not very representative of who I am or what I value. I would also like a home that has more soundproofing because I don’t enjoy hearing a lot of noise. I’m working on tolerance, but I would prefer prefer a different layout within a home.

I would hope to see that my understanding of life has continued to grow. That my values have taken on more meaning and a greater appreciation for what is important. And that what I write here today has pointed me in the right direction. Cheers!

I hope I am healther, and that I have made real progress on my films

I hope we are settling in well for a new school year wherever it may be and that we are comfortable with our decision. I think we’ll be thinking about the more mundane next 5 yrs at that point

You don't know what you don't know. Although my internal compass generally seems to know the road ahead. I like reflecting on the past year, and I like setting intentions for depth and growth. I don't see a lot of difference coming in the year ahead. Deepening into my new home. Building the garden and landscape around me. Making big art. Working with teens. Through these things bringing my light to the world. I feel a strong sense of commitment about that, and these questions help illuminate it.

Interestingly all of my hopes from last year are still just out of reach. I hope i do not feel defeated and faithless next year. Tonight i feel pessimistic and exhausted.

I think I’ll be intrigued, curious. Just like I was this year. Sometimes I completely forget what I wrote and it’s really cool hearing from my past self. I hope I can be proud of my growth and strength by the time September 2027 comes around.

It's a really tough question. I think I'll be another year older, no longer prediabetic, and therefore happy.

I basically want to copy last year. Continued good scans. A job for Marshall. A world that is just us, not us vs. them. I hope I understand myself better. Maybe find what I think I am looking for.

I hope we will be married and happy and our elder daughter with us, and the younger fine, and my family present.

I hope i will be able to be me and not frustrated to see nothing has changed of what to wanted to change

I am sure there will be bad things that happen to me that set me back that I hadn’t expected, and perhaps some good breaks too. I fear that I’ll be in a similar place next year without much new to report. The best way to overcome that fear is to just buckle down and make sure it doesn’t happen. Growth. In some meaningful and personal way. That is the goal.

I hope we will all still be alive & the madmen have been reined in! I hope I’ve been a contributor to my loved ones, my community, & given my all for Life’s sake!

i hope ill have put in yhat bench and made slow progress towards my goals. i think ill feel pleased and nostalgic to look back

When the vault opens next year, I'll be grateful that I have had the opportunity of living and growing and learning and transforming myself and contributing to the world for one more year!

I hope that I will be surpisingly pleased that I have figured out what to transmit to my grandchildren about Judaism. I hope that I’ll be more wholehearted about my Jewish identity in spite of Israel’s recent horrors.

Hope Wont be so judgy angry afraid I hipe ill feel proud Not in spite of

Depressed. So little has changed from last year.

Thanks to the big changes this year things are likely to look quite different by next year. I feel positive about the businesses I/we are building and hope we have become more established by then. I hope to have be one more competent in cat grooming and to have hit really up and running with the building work with Will while keeping my gardening business turning over. I am not sure these questions make as much difference as life taking over this year ie redundancy, but having read last year’s last week my answers in 2025 about wanting a career change were very prescient. Will will be living here more and I really hope working and living together more will not put a strain on our relationship which is currently going very well. I have gone through my own personal ups and downs about it over the time we’ve been together, but I keep coming back round to it being what I want. My own difficulties of attachment and fear of losing independence tend to lead the charge but having to address them seems to be doing me good. It’s ok to feel like that sometimes and does not mean it is terminal. This is because he is right for me so I’m not looking for reasons to get rid of him. Maybe by next year R will be less high maintenance but hopefully not less fun. We all have a great dynamic that means we have a lot of fun together even just doing normal stuff like going swimming. Many things are just a phase but I hope that one is lasting. Overall, answering these questions has made me realise that this year is the year I gained my freedom. The year I realised i did not need to be stuck in a job or a life I hated. Freedom is everything.

From last year: My first hope and wish is to be alive, lucid, and still independent. My fervent prayer is that my daughter's lesions continue to shrink and that her pains subside; that she has the quality of life a mother would want for her baby girl; that she enjoys her daughters and the rest of her family. I love her.

I hope that I am feeling much much better and more hopeful and optimistic about life.

I would have guessed right on the questions. I will be mentally and physically, socially, physically, emotionally better. My actions and predictions come true. I will feel better and content about the coming year or the year that’s passed.

I am hoping to be free of legal entanglement with my parents and their Care. I am hoping that I am working full-time not just on contract at the hospital. I’m also hoping to become more patient in a better listener. I hope I read these answers a year from now. I have grown as a person with regards to patients listening skills. I definitely have become a much better learner. I’m not afraid to learn. I have learned tons of new skills and I’m very proud of myself so now I just need to work on my interactions with my friends and family. I want to be a good friend and a great father and husband hopefully I’m done life entanglement with my family and I am going to feel less negative about my Mom And Dad and my brothers.

Better health, better work/life balance, hopefully better planet.

Happy to still be alive. More relaxed pace.

I can only hope I’m healthier from a sciatica and stomach point of view. Can’t walk far. Likely have back surgery this year. Opted for the outpatient endoscopy surgery. Always afraid of making things worse though this surgery has a high success rate. We attended Kever Avot remembering Jared and all those who came before us. He is deeply missed and will always be remembered.

I don’t expect any changes in the mess that is our current political system/government. I will hope that I can experience positive creative events as a performer and as a composer. And that relates to my continued effort to push myself artistically.

How do I think I'll feel? I *hope* I'll want to write something different next year. Because looking at least year's entry, it's pretty much the same. We're still going through all of it: the descent into American Fascism; my deeply painful struggle with my Jewish identity, community and the problem of Zionism; trying to weather the logistical, financial and emotional fallout of our sudden DOGE firing after 24 years of service and sacrifice; trying to make a home in a house that is a money pit and doesn't have room for all extended family members that live here; and my sister's Alzheimer's continues to progress more quickly than we'd hoped. The positive? The kids and I have built real lives here despite it all. My husband has finally started to recover from the anguish of losing his career and calling. I have new friends and a great community. So I hope that next year I'll look back at these answers and think, it was another rough year but we're making it.

I don't know. So much depends on what's happening in the country by then; right now the rhetoric is really disturbing and we"ll either be improving or much worse next year. The economy is stressing so many people, and inequality is increasing, and that has a lot of influence on how I'll be feeling. As far as the contribution 10Q makes to my feelings and my life, it's been interesting to see where I've had some growth and where I'm still kind of stuck, where my relationships have changed, where my sense of what I can do and what I am doing has changed or stayed the same. This prompt for reflection is really helpful; my experience is that most change happens slowly and incrementally and taking an annual snapshot is kind of reassuring that the incremental actions add up over time.

depressed

Well, it did change for the worst. Lenny is not here with me anymore. He did pass away a couple months after last year’s questions so I’ve had nine months without him before this year’s questions. I was very interested to see last year‘s answers, knowing what I was going through at the time, but it also was sad cause I knew he was alive when I answered those questions and he’s not now so next year will probably be even sadder because I will know that I’ve already answered these questions without him.

Last year, I was mostly worried about taking care of my mother from a distance, and dealing with the anxiety she provoked in me, at the same time that I was overwhelmed by the anxiety of the national situation: culturally, economically, societally, environmentally, etc. This year, my mother has died. I had knee replacement surgery that has forced me to slow down. The country is still fucked, but it seems like enough people are starting to respond to the neverending horrors of Trump and his minions that we might see it diminish. I think it will be many, many years before the US regains any kind of standing internationally, and before the damage to our domestic institutions is repaired or revisioned.

Trump and his lackeys are still ruining the country, and the world. I hope by this time next year he will have less power, less impact, less of a following. And that we can look to rebuilding what he’s destroyed, and helping humanity more. We need to rebuild our country’s community, and the world community.

I hope I'll recognize that I am in a good place right now (even if not the best) and that even when things are tough and scary, we can still move forward and find rays of light.

I hope I will be happier and healthier.

I hope that my book will be published and I will have progressed in my evolution.

I hope that I'll feel like I've moved forward somewhat, that my fears from this year sound quaint and outdated and like they belong to someone else entirely.

You know, I like my answer from last year: "I hope to feel more at peace with myself, but also with the world around me. I hope to understand that there are many things I cannot change, but I can always change myself. I hope that the year brings peace and comfort, even in small ways. I hope, overall, to be more me."

I want to keep developing my journey with dance, my career. I achieved new milestone. I hope to feel more certainty and have more clarity For example I would like to direct my focus to my own practice and creations and to start study until now it was hard for me to find the way to do it or to have the confidence for it but today I feel that i can do it and truly hope to achieve it in a year.

I don't know. Again, I hope some of my relationships look different, and I've achieved some of my professional goals, but I also hope I continue to be grateful for everything I do have in my life.

I hope to find myself grounded, knowing who I am and having structure to my days.. 15 months after Stephen died, I hope I’m handling the sadness and grief better than now. I want to have a clear view of where I am and what is next. I hope I have found ways to smile and laugh. I hope I have found interesting people along my journey.

I think I’ll feel compassion for myself. I hope I’ll have someone special in my romantic life, and I hope I’ll be doing well academically.

I hope to feel content in my life and be busier helping move the needle for fetal alcohol spectrum disorder and Illinois.

I want to keep deepening my relationships with my kids. I want to let Mike know how much I treasure him. I want to value and trust myself.

I think I will feel like many of the wants and needs a year from now will be the same as I want and feel today. That is life. We change, but our essence remains the same. But this will be a year of big changes in my life… new home, new travels, new phase of life. So I hope I will feel changed but that I have found equanimity.

I hope that I will have some answers to some questions and concerns I have about my life

I hope that I will have achieved what I wanted to and that the things that are dragging me down will be in the past.

I hope to have accomplished some of the goals and ideas that I set forth for this year, and those I didn't complete I will need to look at and see what happened.

I'm hoping that by Sept. 2027, Wade will be back to work (or almost there), walking normally again, driving himself again, basically being his old autonomous self again. I also hope that I'll be starting my new career as a machinist by then! It's always interesting to me to see my previous years' answers so I know I'll be looking forward to it.

I am ever hopeful that situations both in my life and outside of it will have some improvement or resolution. This is physical and emotional as well as what is happening in the US and how it impacts the world around us. I did not participate in q10 for a few years. I was too depressed. And grew tired of writing the same stories and situations each year without any positive outcomes ever. I’ve been writing the same story my entire life. I’ve never been able to resolve root issues although I’ve spent decades in therapy. This year might be a bit different. My mortality is around every corner and with me at each step on my way. Maybe I’m in love. Is that enough to keep me alive or give me the will to change? The questions posed always give cause to a lot of thought. I feel like I never directly - or otherwise- answer correctly.

I am hoping we’ll have control of Congress and can cut off the shitshow that is Trump. Maybe we’ll even be rid of Trump. That would go a long way towards regaining relationships with other nations, and helping us at home.

I hope that I continue to improve my professional skills and my health condition stays stable or as good as it currently is. From a health perspective - how I feel today may be as good as it will ever be! And that is OK because I feel good today. Regarding what may be different 1-year from now, I hope that I will be in the process of selling my business. I also hope that I will be able to spend more time with my granddaughter. I hope to see more of her as she continues to grow and learn. The 10Q questions are a great catalyst for introspection. Sometimes I need a reminder to think about the big picture. 10Q questions have helped me think about the big picture issues. I find 10Q to be an important annual event and a good use of my time.

I hope I will be proud of my achievements. And of how I worked hard to become a better person.

All of my hopes for this year have been fulfilled. How crazy is that? A year from now, I hope I can say the same. I wouldn't be surprised to see Nina engaged (to Tom?!) and maybe even Zoe engaged to Matt (or possibly to have ended that relationship and moved to DC too!). Lou has certainly met and surpassed my hopes for him. Perhaps this will be the year he takes on the challenge and pleasure of having a girlfriend again. I think he's much more ready now. As for myself, I hope to be a happy, healthy, vibrant observer of life - involved, but also on the sidelines, of all the wonder happening around me - watching the Vigen family love and learn as the kids grow; Bella and Eva become women; the Palmer boys become men; Gabe and Molly thrive; and of course, Oliver move with his usual grace and style through another year of life - his 70th on earth. Reviewing these questions has been so helpful towards remembering my priorities, successes, value, goals, and gratitude. What a beautiful, beautiful life I lead.

Ecstatic, because I’ll still be here. An added bonus will be if life continues on an upward tangent. In this next year I plan to spend more time in “the great outdoors”. Want to make like Bilbo Baggins and slip away from the Shire.

I do think I will address the issues I need to face. I do not think I'll engage with the world more. I expect I'll do even less of that. The worries about my mom will lessen as my aunt is needing more and more professional care. I am very confident there is a good year ahead.

I think I will feel equal parts hopeful and worried. I hope the political situation in the world will have stabilized toward mercy and humanity…but I’m not expecting that. I hope my life and those of my friends and family will continue along, improving where they hope it will, in safety and love.

I'd like to think I will feel more hopeful about my life and the world in general. I feel like I have no control over the painful things that are happening, a lot of which are caused by our government. And this feeling of helplessness leaks over into my personal life. If there is a change in Congress after the midterms, I'd like to think that our country will stop being such a bully to our own residents as well as to the rest of the world. I would then hope that there'd be more peace in my life.

It's interesting to read my answers to these questions a year later and reflect on what life was like at the time to prompt me to answer in the ways that I did. When I look at these answers a year from now I hope that I will have made progress on the things I wanted to make progress on, and I hope I will feel compassion towards myself if I didn't. I hope I will feel kind towards myself when I remember the things that I was struggling with, and if there are things I am struggling with this year that are still struggles this time next year, I hope that I will be kind to myself in acknowledging that they are a work in progress and may take time; progress itself is an achievement.

I think I will be grateful that I started the year off from such a positive place, and I hope I will be able to build on that foundation to achieve even more growth and joy. What I hope will be different is a greater authenticity in who I actually am at this point in my life - for what I do to reflect my current identity rather than what it used to be. I want to challenge the things that I have taken for granted as givens, and embrace only those things that are still relevant and meaningful.

I hope I've forged a path in my music career where I can trust the process. I think I'm on my way to that. I hope I'll be in a relationship and working hard for the future.

This is such a weird moment: my family separating, closing on a new home for half of us during Sukkot. This time next year, I hope we all feel settled and happier in this new phase of our lives. I hope I have gained professional clarity. I hope not to need to contemplate public rebuke.

I find this exercise interesting and how my life changes over the years without much connection to this. I will be curious what I remember next year...will I be retired?

I hope my sisters and I find a way to celebrate each other and be together in joy. I hope Colin and Jesse's life will continue to be filled with love, and that they are both engaged in work that is fulfilling and sustaining. I hope Bryan finds a meaning position that is fulfilling for him as well. I hope my boys feel valued and loved. I hope Scott and I are healthy and fit and that our house is a haven of peace and love. I hope all the people I love best - my sisters, Hope, Lorra are well and happy.

I think I'll feel better. I know I feel a certain amount of anxiety and depression because it seems like things are not moving, but I sense that I'm wrong, and there's more movement than I think.

I hope that this will either be a delight that I've pursued some of the items on her or a fear that a year has slipped by with"nothing to show."

I'll be much richer, happier, internally and externally powerful. I'll have travelled with joy, happiness, and no crazy love anxiety with narcissists. I will get over the pain, and I will Make Plenty Money doing what I love. And I will be much much much much much much much much happier please G_d.

I hope that I see them as hopeful and positive, and that the life I’m living next year is as good as the one I’m living right now, if not better! For the first time in my life I feel very positive about the future: please gd this time next year I will be engaged and and planning my wedding, with all of my grandparents able to attend it.

lived by values less regrets Showed up for others and for myself love closer to my own true nature Feel joy among people I love and show them how much I love them

I hope I will feel proud of having taken ownership of my body and career choices since this year.

I hope I have made another friend or two here in Green Bay. I hope I will have found an art studio and will be painting! I hope my health will be a little better and more stable. And I deeply hope the midterm elections will have gone Democratic, and that Israel will have gotten rid of Netanyahu. I hope I will have made it to Florida to see Gal and Ariel, and to Israel to see the family. Answering these questions gives me some impetus to change the things I can!

Goodness. I'm not sure. I supposed it depends how the year goes. After the last few years, I feel braced for unpleasant surprises. I think I trust less in my will and feel more that my job is to somehow surf the waves of what life sends my way, and if I manage to make some compromise of direction with those waves, I have succeeded. And I AM an Auntie again, twice this year -Brina's baby Auggie and Ari's baby Matan, with a third on the way! Baruch Hashem!

I worry that my style has been weird this year. Too specific. Too obtuse. Too dark. I have endevaored to write more spontaneously, more honestly, more personally without performativity. I hope that structure around this annual writing practice will improve my writing skills, bring me closer to lost cultural tradition, deepen introspection and self knowledge.

I think we will still be struggling as a country, will still have division in the country. I hope that I have a more systematic observance of meditation in my life, of gratitude and peace in my life, and that we are noticeably further out of debt.

I no longer try to predict the future, but I can say this. Hey, Amy of 2027. I appreciate how much work you've put into living and working this year. You've accomplished more than I can imagine, and I'm sure you're still dissatisfied that it wasn't more. Try to be kind to yourself, take a deep breath, and give yourself credit. I hope you are getting out of the house. I hope you are connecting with people. I hope you are volunteering in ways that help you to see just how fortunate you are. Try not to be too frustrated with where they are. You too were once so ignorant. Finish each year and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow begins a new year. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

Ditto on last year. We have been doing this exercise for over a decade so we are getting better at setting goals, but our follow through is sometimes not quite there. Here are our goals from last year. How to transform bathroom. We didn't do ours, but helped our neighbors do theirs. It made us think we should do ours. Helpful but guilty. New electrical panel. On hold House remodeling in Australia. Kitchen done, what next? How to enjoy and foster the kids and grandkids. Just plan on doing this forever. Still will love them unconditionally. What might be different? How to support elderly. Will our elders be here next year. Enjoy them while we can. Be prepared for the end. How to finish projects you already started. I started the year well, need to get back on this horse. Hopefully if we finish projects we will feel relieved and happy.

I hope some answers will prove to be true, and I hope I will find some useful advice from my past. Gmar hatima tova!

September 2027. Feels unreal that we’ve gotten hear. 40 years since I graduated HS. What have I made of my 40 years? I married. I raised two children. I poured my soul into serving Tacoma. I need something else now. I want to say I created something, produced something. Wrote a book, created a story is what I want to say. It was turned into a movie. OR I met somebody in NYC and I became a princess. I could go for either. Or por que no los dos?

I hope that I won't feel as down on myself as I do now. Hopefully, I'll have found my focus to keep on creating as a writer and try to be a better person.

I'll feel grateful for my health, for my life. Grateful for the Jamison side of my family, and the Brown side. I'll feel fine about my 2026 answers. I'll feel healthy rested. Relieved that the Democrats won the Senate and the House in 2026 midterms. Relieved and a little sad that Jim's trust is closed, finished. Perhaps I'll be traveling internationally, perhaps not. I'm not feeling stuck now.

When September 2027 comes around and I read these answers again, I imagine I’ll feel a mix of pride, reflection, and maybe even surprise at how much can change in a year. I hope that when I look back, I can see that I continued to grow, take chances, and put myself out there, even when it felt uncomfortable. I hope there is greater peace in Israel and throughout the world, because we desperately need more love, compassion, and understanding and less hatred. Personally, I hope I feel even more connected to and confident in my Jewish identity and practice, have continued learning about Judaism and Israel, and have grown stronger both physically and emotionally. I also hope I have continued opening myself up to new friendships, experiences, and opportunities and perhaps have taken the steps I’ve been afraid to take when it comes to love. Most of all, I hope that when I read these answers, I can look back with gratitude for where I was in September 2026 and see how far I’ve come. Even if everything doesn’t turn out exactly as I imagine, I hope I can say that I stayed true to myself, continued to grow, and made choices that brought more love, meaning, and joy into my life.

I think I will have mixed feelings. If I achieve the things I want for myself for next year I will feel pride and relief. If I fail, I will feel regretful and defeated.

This is extremely hard to answer given what the political situation is in this moment. We are living in a divided country. MAGA Republicans are fomenting violence, and there is more evidence on a daily basis that we are living completely in a fascist country. Right now I am despondent -on one level of consciousness. On another level of consciousness, I am content at peace and love my life. This level of consciousness, I will continue.. I hope by this time next year I am in a better frame of mind on the other level of consciousness..

Annoyed that I’m compelled to do this every year

I honestly hope my life is the same. My husband is crazy about me, my sons are happy (mostly) and healthy, I will have granddaughter, I’m living a life better than I ever could have imagined. I hope that I read the answers and feel grateful.

constant deep appreciation of my beloved husband, healthy lifestyle, reducing stress in my life as a way of living, travel with my husband, abundance in work, home, and i see it and appreciate it

A point of connection with my spouse. Taking time to discuss our responses.

I have been thinking a lot about Teshuva and what it means. In some ways, it tells me to forgive and be forgiven the things that are fixable. In another, it talks about changing and renewing ME. Who is the ME that I want to be next year? A listener, a kind person, social, strong and forceful in my convictions and so many other things. Mostly, I want to be respected for believing in people and being in control. Whew. Maybe.

Pretty much the same as last year: Still fine with weight at 139-141 - at this point in my life (and age) no one really cares but ME, so I'll just keep doing the best I can at that and try to stay as healthy as I can in other ways! I sincerely hope that by this time next year the arbitration will be VERY successful and that we'll have enough $ to MOVE to maybe Santa Barbara where I won't have to work anymore. When I was young, the thought of "retirement" was Sooo far in the future, never even gave a thought to planning for it... BIG MISTAKE! I really hope that by this time next year I'LL HAVE FINALLY FINISHED 1 IF NOT BOTH OF THOSE NOVELS THAT HAVE BEEN SITTING IN MY COMPUTER FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS!!! Every year answering these 10 questions, the days seem to go by faster and faster - maybe because it's only September and stores are already putting out CHRISTMAS decorations... in AUGUST! I'm pretty sure the Demobrats are going to take the House and Senate - Trump will probably be sued many more times, impeached a few until those crazies get over their hatred for the guy. I'd like to think we'll see a strong PRO-Israel world, or at the very least an ANTI-ANTI-SEMITISM WORLD, but after 5787 years of being hated it most probably will never happen in my lifetime. Doing this for the past 10 years I have to say I'm VERY happy that my life is getting more positive and a bit better every year - which is pretty great considering!

First, I hope I am still alive!! And I really hope this black cloud will be gone and I will be at peace again, and happier in my life.

I hope Canada will still be strong and free. I hope the US feels like less of a threat even if we may not ever be truly close allies again.

I hope I will feel more balance in my life. I hope I will have achieved some of the things I have talked about. Specifically, I hope that I will have found a new job that makes me feel less angry and spiteful and an employer that treats me with respect. I hope that I will be doing art more. And I hope that I will be finding time to unplug from all the distractions and plug into the things that actually matter.

I hope to still be with my current partner and to have had my memoir published. I can't honestly say that answering these questions will have had a profound effect - as I tend to consistently question myself and my motives, dreams and desires.

I am hopefully that I could be newly-retired at this point next year, and that will be a positive change. If I am, that will likely mean that I’ve had more opportunities to do what I want, when I want, and more often. With any luck, Trump will be at worst a lame duck president, and at best no longer on the scene. If the rise in anti-Semitism has ebbed somewhat, then I’ll be feeling better about the world. Also, if the democratic socialists have a losing streak, then I’ll be less worried about our country.

I hope I have more financial security and feel calm and content.

I do think I've achieved good things since last year. 1st tier monitization in YouTube. Flora Aya retreat Weekly meditation More patterns sold on Etsy. What I want for next year... More YouTube (whether or not fully monitized) Tidy house and Studio Not to be in debt

I'm hoping things will continue to be on an upward trajectory. I'm hoping to be done or nearly there with the masters degree. Further along in my career with a clearer picture of where I stand in the succession of the department. To still be in love and loved by Shan. To feel safe within the borders of my country. To have a better grasp on my mental health and be actively working towards improvement. I am cautiously hopeful, only because we've all had hope and had it ripped from us. I want to still be able to hope, though.

I hope I will have found my person, 3rd time lucky. I want to find a better flat, I want to get on with my younger son better.

I will feel accomplished and validated with my experiences. I will 20 pounds lighter and have deeper relationships with my family and friends. I will be a better person.

I wish my intention to be healthier, as well as my cat, has had some true progress! And that my goal of a calm life has continued/strengthened.

I just want to read them, smile, and think “you didn’t give up.” I don’t believe I’ll be so different, but I feel satisfaction when I see that incremental progress. I believe in me. I know I can do it, but like my dad says “improve your support team.” I’m tired of being torn down by the person I love the most. I wish she could see beyond the next five minutes and be my biggest cheerleader, like I am for her. No matter, I’ll keep going, and I will succeed.

I hope I will have some miraculous awakening when we visit Morocco. I know I will see new coworkers in my life. I hope my kitten will grow into a calm, loving, cat.

I'm sure I'll be thankful to be alive for another year. I hope I find my brother healed and I hope I find my son delivered and healed I hope I find my grandson's delivered and healed and my daughter-in-law delivered and healed and without cancer. I hope I have a companion or a roommate or something to help me around here so I won't be alone. It's always I want to lose the weight healthily. I want my help to improve all around. I want to find myself in a home church and in a closer walk with God. I want to find myself content and happy joyful and that's why I want to find my son and his family and my brother and his family.
